A friend of mine is redoing his exhaust on his truck and told me he would Give me 2 flowmaster 40's for free. I've been wanting to do something different with my exhaust, just never decided what. So I thought about running dial flowmasters on my Taco and running it to Y's out the back. Anyone else have dual flowmasters on their Taco and what are your likes and dislikes of the setup? Please keep any criticism to yourself, I would like to hear sound clips if possible if anyone's running it. I have a 2009 dcsb v6.

I heard a flowmaster 40 on a fj a while back sounded like a lawn mower honestly. If I were you magnaflow an urd or trd sounds the best.

    I mean… it’s a Ford, you don’t care
I would how with only one of the 40s, typically a dual exhaust on these trucks is one muffler with dual outlets. Not trying to criticize either. If you do it, post up a video and sound clip, I'd be interested to see how it sounds!

Have you never heard it on your friends truck that it's being removed from?

    Wouldn't it sound the same?

As far as others comments, well, what they like/don't like may not line up with your goals. Remember, sound 'sweetness' is in the ear of the listener. There are a few v6 motors around that sound really nice. To my ears, Toyota isn't in that club.

They're on a 99 f150 right now so I can't get any idea what it'll sound like on my truck. I was hoping maybe someone here had it and had a sound clip I could hear.

The dimensions off the muffler could be different, same with the inlet/outlet location and size.

Dimensions really wouldn't be an issue? They don't make different dimension flowmasters based on truck? I'm making a custom system. And the inlet and outlets aren't an issues either, use a piece of pipe that's 2 1/4 on one end and 2 1/2 on the other end and it'll weld right in. I'm just looking for what duals may sound like on our trucks.

Bump. If anyone knows any members with this setup, please let me know guys! And if anyone knows where a sound clip of this particular setup us, let me know that too! Gonna be getting them in about 2-2 1/2 weeks so I'd love to hear it before biting the bullet. Thanks guys!
