I can't be the only one to find Tacoma seats horribly uncomfortable. No thigh or Lumbar support.

Looking for advice from anyone who has had their seat foam reshaped and seats reupholstered. What changes did you have done to the seat? Any specific areas of the seat to focus on? What would you have done different? Any seat materials you recommend? Issues?

I would obviously have this done professionally, yes I realize the cost involved.

I realize that aftermarket seats or seat covers are an option, however:
-Aftermarket seats are most likely out because I want to retain Airbag & Airbag warning light function, but advice in that area is welcome.
-Seat covers don't change the shape of the seat and/or move around too much.

    Pic for attention:

What specifically about the seat is uncomfortable? There are seat risers made my a member on here that can help a bit. Additionally some seat cover places like Wet Okole have lumbar support you can add to your order.

Both of those would probably help with comfort, but I would not be happy with how they would move around and the appearance of them being an add-on to the seat. Like throw pillows for example, I hate throw pillows lol.

I am looking to have the seat re-shaped with those benefits built in. Also never liked the seat material so its a 2 birds 1 stone kind of thing.

I actually got my seats 'restuffed' about 2 years ago and I'm still pretty happy with them. I was in the same boat where these seats just dont feel comfortable to me and always hurt my back. Coming from a 2003 Chevy Tahoe with the plush leather seats and warmers, I knew I at least wanted some heaters in my Tacomas' seats to help with back pain, and I figured while the upholstery shop had the seats open, they might as well throw some extra foam in there with the heaters. So my guy added a 1" thick dense foam to the bottom and rear of the drivers and passengers seats and it made a HUGE difference. Then again, they still are just cheaply built seats, but the extra foam has helped me a lot, even after the foam has broken in a bit. I would recommend it, if that's the route youre looking at.

I'll snap a picture of my seats tomorrow. The Wet Okole's lumbar support is attached to the inside of the seat and fastened in place with a strap and some velcro. I've not had mine move on my once, but it's nice that you can adjust it as needed. Plus the covers themselves have a bit of padding all over which makes them much more comfortable than the stock seats. As far as the seat material, they're made of wet suit material (forget the name) so they're more resistant to stains and such. I think they're about 250 for the front seats unless you get in on the group buy they have here periodically that gives you like 20% off.

Good to know! I was also going to add heaters like you did.
