Ha ha! Ok, I wonder how much money the dealer is charging for installing the USB outlet?

Okay so problem solved. BTW truck was bought new.

Both outlets 1&2 had blown fuses so replaced those yesterday when I got home, checked both outlets and were working then checked the dual USB port and is now working. I guess they spliced into the wires to one of the other outlets instead of going with an inline fuse?

    Anyways, got it solved :)

My console 12V outlet (the standard factory one inside the compartment) stopped working almost immediately after I got the truck, blown fuse. Dealer replaced under warranty and told me it was not uncommon. No repeat after 2 years and 40K miles. As to why the dash USB connector, which is also a data port, is limited to 0.5A, that’s what Toyota, in its “wisdom”, chose, even though USB specs do allow up to 1.5A output for a combined data and charge port. On the other hand 2.1A or even higher output chargers are cheap, so when I added my own outlet to the rear of the console, I just put in a 12V socket so I could plug in any 12V accessory including a USB charger.
