By the way, if you get a chance check out "704 outdoors" my buddy's hunting show from back home. They do a lot of bow hunting. Just google it.

Im in the 100% zone both at home and work. Strongly considering teleworking since gridlock is expected. Nearly every hotel room in the area is booked. Going to be a madhouse.

It's the same here where I'm at in western Kentucky. For a rural area we are expected to have over a million visitors. They closed our schools on Monday so the buses don't have to haul kids around during the eclipse and have potential traffic jams. People out here have been renting 20x20 plots on their property for $400 a night and some properties are full. There is a house on one of our lakes they rented it on Airbnb for 3k and it's booked all weekend. Supposed to be pretty wild here.

Supposed to be 99% here in Bend. I'll be watching from home. Traffics crazy here already and will be getting worse. 45 miles north is where the real insanity will be happening. Traffic backups for several miles already started a couple of days ago. Hundreds of thousands of extra people on our already busy hiways.
The mayor of Madras, a totality location welcomed everyone and said no worries we will not run out of alcohol or weed. Thats almost a direct quote. Gonna be nuts. The solar festivals have already started and will go for an entire week. Traffic will be crazy enough but worse is all the stoned/drunk revelers dropping hot roaches, cig butts, driving hot cats on dry grass. We already have a huge, out of control, 0% contained fire just north of town and another one just north of that one. Bend has been full of smoke for several days. What we need is 5 or 6 hundred thousand partiers in a bunch of dry grass and dead weeds. It's not a good scenario.

Wonder why people didn't go ape shit over the eclipse back in 1979? I was probably stoned that day. I was trying to get all my partying done before going to boot camp at Ft. Dix.
