Has the price changed since this was first posted? Would anyone want to pay that much for a replica?

idk why people here are making it sound like some random dude came across a part Chinese folk decided to make on their own, ordered, then resold

sounds to me like dude designed a product, then outsourced manufacturing cost overseas to have competitive price

 

It's funny you say this because that's what I thought too. Initially.

I've ran a bed rack for the last 6-9 months or so and honestly, I got tired of always having traction boards and rotopax on it, not to mention my RTT. This "tacticool" option gives me the ability to take them all off using the slot rails. We'll see if that "feature" is beneficial in practice but that's the reason I went with this over an RSI, not to mention saving myself $1000 just on the cap, $300 in shipping and $200 in taxes.

 

I bought one a couple days ago but it was from bynd4x4, not China themselves.

Not yet. I’m 6 weeks or so out. When I get it I’ll document the installation process and my first impressions.

I just got one on my 2015 dclb about a month ago. I'm super happy with it so far.

I waited about 6 weeks for it to be delivered from the time I ordered. BYND4x4 was super helpful and resonsive to all my questions. I'm super happy with the fit, the only problem is there is a slight gap from the bottom of the back door to the top of my tailgate. This is due to the fact that I have a aftermarket tailgate reinforcement panel and it doesnt sit as high as the stock panel. I'm sure the back door would seal just fine on stock tailgate.

Having said all this, I've had a leer on my old 2ng gen and 3rd gen, plus a smart cap and a GFC camper on my 3rd gen. The finishing on the BYND4x4 cap isn't as good as the smartcap but I knew for what I was paying it wouldn't be. I'm still happy with it so far.

I haven't had any leaks from the BYND4x4 cap. I opted for no side windows. The one thing that I like about the BYND4x4 cap that I didn;t like about some of the other options out there was that the BYND4x4 cap, the side canopy doors run the length of the bed. Most of the other companies use the same side doors on the short and longned versions.

This are just my person thoughts but I knew what I was buying and it has so far met my expectations.
