Ive had my Tacoma for almost a year now, 6 months ago my moms STI needed new brakes so I drove that for about a week. I loved it, such a different experience from the Tacoma. It was hard to get back into the truck and it felt weird driving it, but after a week I was glad to have the Tacoma back. Get both, if you can..

This is probably the best idea. Plus my insurance won't suck as bad...

SO if anyone is interested in knowing I am thinking I'm going to go with the taco, save a few dollars... buy another motorcycle and then maybe in the next 2 years or so I will
Off the taco, and buy something new... either an STI or new(er) body styler Tacoma... maybe by that time they will have worked out the kinks with the turd gen.. and maybe of added a diesel

If it matters, I went from an 05 Legacy GT Wagon to my Tacoma. Paid cash for both. Prior to the Legacy, I had an 07 WRX.

Purchase what your needs require. When I was younger, I owned a WRX. The older I got the more shit I needed to haul around and the less I cared about going fast. That's why I went sedan(turbo)>wagon(turbo)>truck(NA). Best part now is that I'm old enough and financially secure enough to own both a fast car, and a practical truck.

I guess the sad part is I don't really have any "needs".

My beater Corolla gets me to school and work, and other than that I really don't need anything else, I just really like Tacoma's lol

I bought a 2017 Wrx last November, and I traded it last week for a 2014 Tacoma. The Wrx was almost brand new; 10 months with only 2200km. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun car, but I needed something for work.

What surprised me was that a used 2014 Tacoma is worth more than a 2017 Wrx with only 2200km on the odometer, way more.

Now I hope my Tacoma lives up to its reputation.

Me personally, couldn't live without a truck.
I have no need for a race car, but do need a truck.
If you're young, and aren't into outdoors.. maybe vape alot and say suhh duude.. then wrx is probably for you.
    Haha JK.

If you can live without a truck go for it.

I've driven cars SUV, off road SUvs, and trucks.. whenever I didn't have an actual truck i wished i had a truck.

If you haven't driven a manual taco, you need to.

I own/owned 2 manual tacos, and at work we have auto tacos.
Manual is where it's at hands down.

Traded my '11 STi back in December for my Taco. I found that I use my spare Ford Ranger truck for most of what I do more than my STi which I only uses when I have more passengers due to the ranger being only an extended cab.
I love my STi but I love the versatility of the Tacoma better. No regrets here.

This is the best option out there.

Buy reliable 4x4 you plan to have for a loooong time, then supplement it with a fun toy when funds allow.

Tacoma first, then soobaroo. That's the order I just did.

Granted...I bought an $1800 '98 legacy, but you get the picture. Got it as a daily and backup to my Tacoma in case I break it on the trails or something needs maintenance. I think I read you already have a beater corolla...so get the Tacoma for sure.

I've had many Subaru's. Hence the name. My first was a swapped GC8. Then onto a bugeye, then an sti, then a legacy spec. b

Subaru's are cool, but goddamn did I blow all my money keeping them running after modding them. I've been really happy with the switch to the truck; the fiance drives an FRS so there's still some Subaru in my life.

I would vote truck. I got into a lot of trouble and blew way too much money on Subaru's in my teens and early 20's. If you want a fun dynamic car, get a Miata for cheap and DD the truck. Works well for me.

Not a WRX, but in the same class of vehicles - I went from a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 to my current 2013 Tacoma. The daily drive is nowhere near as fun as it was in the MS3, but it's leaps and bounds more functional. Between the two, I'd take the Tacoma first and the MS3 second.

Again, I still couldn't believe that after I traded in my new 2017 WRX with only 2200km on the odometer, I still had to pay almost $8k more for the 2014 used Tacoma.

I mean, damn, Tacoma is so expensive, and damn, Toyota Canada does NOT negotiate, not even a penny off the sticker price.

    I've got my 2015 Tacoma, a 2016 BRZ and a 2007 Ram 2500 Cummins.

The Tacoma has 47k miles, the Ram has 25k and the BRZ has 2000 miles.

Guess which is more handy and most versatile (for me). I love all three, the BRZ is a blast, the Cummins is a beast but huge, the Tacoma is like that flexible do all vehicle that gets it done!

Cummins, awesome engine. I was going for the Diesel Titan because of Cummins, but I'm just too broke.
