I have an '06 6-cyl. automatic without stability control. I've heard that with stability control in some vehicles there is often more of a pause.

    truck specifically?

My 05 6-speed has same problem, makes for a difficult upshift when motor does not respond to your right foot. I've only had my truck a few weeks so I just need to get my right foot trained better.

From a timing perspective this thing could work. If the regular throttle sensor only transmits its value every 200ms for example, the ECU only gets that value every 200ms to react to it.
If this sensor reads the peddle pressure every 50ms and transmits the value that often, your throttle response is about 4x faster.

However, again, $300+ ? Not in a million years..

Mine too. It is really irrating when doing any type of non grandpa driving. I wonder if this SB helps with deacclerating also? I really regret getting a manual sometimes when I want to take off fast 1st through 4th gear.... So sloppy, and I know it's not my fault.... Sucks that there is not a fix out yet. I am not giving up though..
    Great thread.

Sure would be nice if toyota would come up with a reflash of the ECU to fix this crap. I heard enough people complained on there honda civics, and Honda came through with a fix. I just want someone to come up with a solution, I dont care who or how.

That would be the simple fix. Im sure someone could do it but there is not a crazy aftermarket for "tuning solutions" and our trucks

What are your truck specifics? Any chance you could post a picture of where it mounts?

Sorry, I know it's an old thread...

Anyone else get this thing installed? I would really like to see some pics, as well as more than one person noticing a significant difference in throttle response. I'm really thinking about picking one up, just need a little more convincing before dropping 3 bills. Thanks!

Realistically, to justify this cost you'd have to be heavy into the performance aspect. Gadget likes it because Gadget is building full on supercharged monsters... in that game $300 is "trivial" for additional throttle response... you're already dealing with 10ths of seconds, milliseconds isn't a stretch to get that extra edge on the track. That said it does annoy me, and if I had nothing but cash to burn I'd probably get one myself. Only you can justify it to yourself.

I still have mine.. I now have the newer model that comes with the race/sport/off switch. It definitely makes the truck less boring to drive. Makes for a completely different (funner) driving experience..the truck literally launches off with the slightest touch of the pedal. If it causes too much wheel spin off road or in rainy/snowy weather, you simply turn it off with the push of a switch.. Super easy install.. If you have the $$$, I'd definitely recommend it.
