Anyone here heard of or dealt with a loud tapping noise from the passenger side cylinder head?

2018 Tacoma TRD sport. 45000 miles. Makes this tapping sound like a collapsed lifter. Coming from the passenger side cylinder head. Does not make the noise when cold, only once the engine warms up/gets hot from driving. The noise seems to come and go/ fade in and out at times. Definitely not the injector cleaning cycle or vacuum pump. Oil changed regularly with mobil 1 0w-20. I will try to upload a video of the noise. Thanks for any help or insight y'all might have.

There's a part that likes to fall in towards the lifter when the ACIS goes tits up...:notsure:
IIRC, it's cylinder 3(middle cylinder, passenger side).

I thought the ACIS was inside the intake manifold, I don't understand how something would fall in towards the lifters?

Lifter is a typo.... I think he mean the valve.

Yes...when the ACIS flap failed, it's bushing fell out and landed and got hung up on top of cylinder 1's intake valve.

That makes more sense. Mine only makes the tapping noise once the engine is hot from driving. Never does it when cold. Also, no check engine light, no stored codes, no miss fire, or rough running. Runs great at idle, normal driving and wide open acceleration.

That ticking sound distinctly comes and goes, mine sounds like shit too but it doesn’t tick, it knocks……..and it’s constant.

Mine has this as well. What did you end up doing about it?

edit: would this be covered under power train warranty?
