Yep.......but my G.I.Joe was an articulated version.
    Specifically, Marine.

I`ve still got three of mine. One sustained a battle injury with a cherry bomb back in the sixties. Missing a hand. None of mine have the beard that you could get. I have a sailor, a marine, and one Army.

Still have one of 3. “Back in the day” had the helicopter and headquarters. Oh how I wish I still had them. Not to derail GI Joe but I still have these originals....36280B87-137B-4CAC-A675-09A78682A220.jpg

I have two of the originals, back before the beard was even available. Lots of uniforms, but not a lot of the expensive extras.

Well then... you guys might appreciate this:

    20201117_165329.jpg
Re-designed my rig's logo several weeks ago, found a site that worked with me to get everything "just right" ...and just got the decals back last Friday. Spent Saturday afternoon using the wife's hairdryer, some Goo Gone and a shit ton of elbow grease. I am rather pleased with how they turned out.:D

I was born in 56, had a bunch of the original GI Joe’s, US, German, Japanese. I gave all my stuff to one of my younger cousins but now I wish that I would have stored them away as they are collectibles now.

I had the same setup as the OPs picture, as well as the footlocker (complete) and a ton of uniforms/accessories that was my uncles from the 60's. I sold the whole lot on ebay a few years back for ~$650. Not bad considering it had all been played with and included no original packaging. Ditched the original star wars figures for almost the same coin that week as well. Now just need to dig out dad's HO trains that I inherited when he passed, that stuff is just taking up space and needs to go.

Had a buddy next door who also had GI Joes. Epic battles. Then they would beat the shit out of his sister`s Ken doll and go on furlough with Barbie. His sister would get pissed off. Also had a cheap version that the uniform and boots were molded on. Knees and waist wouldn`t bend. About all that he could do was hold his rifle at port arms.

    working on it... :-)
I had most of the big sets (Christmas gifts) and a lot of those little sets (if I did my chores, got good grades on report card, etc., etc.). Being an only child, Joe was a HUGE part of my formative childhood years. He & I went on a LOT of important TOP SECRET rescue missions together. LOL.

One of the saddest days of my life was coming home after my first year of college to visit... and my mom told me she "helped" me get the house organized by selling my collection of Joe stuff... and handed me $20. I wanted to die/kill her/bawl like a baby. LOL.

Seeing what the stuff in even halfway decent shape goes for on eBay and elsewhere... sickens me. Who could've ever guessed way back then?? Confidentially, I've been tempted to pull the trigger on a "Secret of the Mummy's Tomb" set when one occasionally pops up... but I just cannot justify the $$$ cost - plus the wife would be on me with the "where are you/we going to put THAT!?" routine. LOL

And so the customized ADVENTURE TEAM bed decals on my Tacoma are my small way of staying in touch with that cherished piece of my youth.:infantry:And it's always cool to see a Joe fan from my generation recognize the AT logo and give me an excited 'thumbs up' or salute.
