Just wondering if anyone here has removed the rear seats (the bottoms at least) in their DC and has come up with a clever way to reconfigure it for gear and a dog. I did similar in my 2nd gen AC.... doing in with a DC would provide a lot more inside cargo space as long as you don't need people space.

I think there's someone here that make and sell panels from Goose Gear. Alternatively, I've seen people use some plywood with some carpet to achieve something similar.

So I was thinking of doing the opposite, i want to take the cargo behind the seats to see if I can make more leg room. Does anyone know if that is possible?

Thanks for the plug boss! My platforms actually are designed around KEEPING the backseats in place so you can go from hauling gear/dogs and back to seats for passengers in literally a minute or less. I wanted more storage but also didnt want to completely lose the ability to use the backseats. If you guys are dead set on deleting the backseat, right now GooseGears stuff is pretty sweet, although $$$$$. I have had lots of interest in making one of my platforms for a seat delete and am looking into it, but dont have that ready for market yet.

I'm sure you got plenty of information and pictures from the link that @Suprajim54 linked above. But do let me know if there is something that wasnt covered or if there is a specific picture you'd like to see. Essentially the platforms are installed by folding the rear seats completely, then putting my platform in place giving a flat useable surface for dogs/gear/whatever. The platform sits level or very near level and actually sits just a little lower than the seat would and obviously it sits further back so you do gain more useable area for dogs/gear when it's in place.

Looks sweet, it appears the mod allows the option to install just one side (either the larger or the smaller side), this way we can have the best of both worlds. Install the larger side behind the passenger so we can keep a third seat behind the driver...or vice versa of keeping the bigger seat and have dedicated storage behind the driver.

I removed the seat bottoms and put the seat backs down for a flat surface, 4 bolts and I can carry passengers again easy enough. I'm taller and have the front seat all the way back so I couldn't just fold up the bottoms. I am looking at removing the seat backs, leaving the back wall plastics in place and making a carpet covered plywood platform that attaches to the bottom seat hinges. I would gain a few inches of storage height plus have easy access to the under seat storage. It'll probably will be a summer project.
