I have seen no snow as of yet, but God knows it won't be long, I think it will be a great sled season. Which means lots of shoveling.

All of the empty lots are all built up. I have a Suffolk County parks permit for the beach, which is fun, but is not serious four wheeling. Wondering if there is any places left on the east end?

Ive talked to alot of people on LI and I havent heard of 1 legal place to wheel on LI. South jersey has some places but its alot of water and sand the best place I have been is rausch creek. Theres a trip on nov13-15 I cant make it. But if your gonna go out there you should have a lift and at min rocksliders. I am up for a hooters meet on a weekend get to see some set ups in person and then a mod day if someone has a place we can work on our trucks if somebodys lookin to do a lift or a grill small stuff.

Yeah, wheeling in NY is practically non existant unless you have an ATV, or sled in winter. we should all pitch in and buy some land for our own park. lol. then we always have a place to wheel.

Believe me, I've thought of that! Get a small business loan/grant, buy a couple hundred acres, have people come over with chain saws, axes, etc and clear some land, make some trails, etc. Too bad the grant application process needs a team of lawyers to work through, and my credit sucks too badly to get the required loan. :(

Closest thing I have around me is seasonal use roads. Not hard core, but they're more fun than street driving! The fun factor goes up depending on how long it's been since someone threw some dirt down and graded it. Some wash out, become over grown, have logs across them, get rutted out, and of course there's always winter where even the "well maintained" ones accumulate snow and ice. Since they aren't plowed they can be challenging if you can get through whatever is piled up at the start of the road by the plow going by. I was on one last winter that's made me decide I want to get chains for the rear before trying it again this winter. :D A couple hundred feet up the hill, 2-3ft deep x 4ft wide ditches on either side, and so much ice the truck slid 20-30ft before with all 4 brakes locked before stopping so my buddy could get back in....

yeah, the seasonal roads are great, if you remember exactly where the 3 foot ditch is that you saw everyday during the summer is.:anonymous: And then you require a dually tractor to pull you out. lol. Hopefully the tires i have now will be better that the last ones. Bfg at's were awful on snow, wet roads, hell, roads in general.....and then there is the mud. won't even start on the mud. lol Maybe the general grabbers will be better. so far they are much better, but they have not seen snow yet either.

The Rugged Fails my truck came with sucked in snow. Kumho Road Venture AT's were pretty good. I have Yokohama Geolander ATS's on now I think. Will see what they're like when the snow flies. Also went from a 285/75 16 to 265/75 16 so they're a bit narrower and I'm hoping better in the snow.
