So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Don't get me wrong I love the geography the outdoor activities abound. The government is about the worst in the country. And don't think the safe act is a joke. It's a crime.

I can appreciate that. Family is the only reason I came back here from SC. Well, there were reasons I left SC, but that's the only real reason I came back to NY and stayed here.

The environment might be ideal, but the damn regulations are a pain in the ass. Fees for hunting licenses, the odd expiration times of fishing permits (Cuomo actually realized how retarded those were when he discovered fishing and now wants to change them), and then the whole safe act now making it illegal to rifle hunt with anything with a pistol grip. Or even a semi-auto shotgun with pistol grip. Oh and some hunting grounds are illegal to hunt on in the Adirondacks simply because the land is owned by a college.

    http://www.pressrepublican.com/0105...335464721/No-firearms-on-SUNY-ESF-lands/print

Really makes me wonder how much hunting will decrease thanks to that bullshit law.

The hills and trees are definitely something I missed in SC! All flat except the on ramps, and very few trees. However, I was able to breath clearly and enjoy sunny days all the time down there! Back in NY my sinuses are congested nearly 24x7, and it's almost always cloudy/overcast here.

If it wasn't so cold that all the plastic shit broke, I could breath clearly, and had a snowmobile or something to enjoy the snow with I might actually like it here. lol But without that, the ridiculous laws and taxes far outweigh the geographical benefits.

 Yup, I'm a big boy. I know how to play with the cards I was dealt, and plan on making the very best of it. I'll miss my house, BIG yard, inground heated pool (open from mid Mar to late Oct), and every 2nd amendment right available to exercise!

I won't miss the oppressive summer humidity, INCREDIBLE POLLEN 11.5 months a year, bugs galore, mosquitos that never stop breeding, noseums from hell, hurricanes', lack of professional sports and coverage, the fact that my outstanding mortgage is more than the current value of my parents home, both brothers, and sister COMBINED, which in turn make my low taxes on it higher than the taxes of any place I looked at!
All in all, actually... none of it really matters. It's just simple to list shit I don't like... but for well over 20 years, I've dealt with it, and enjoyed it... just like I will up there.

Truly, besides my grandson, I'm going miss the crazy TW Guys and girls down here. It is a very large, active group! We have meets and Mod Days OFTEN... everyone is willing to get together... help... wheel... whatever.

Yes, it desperately needs to warm up. I am game for whatever this summer, I would really like to find a closer place to hit some trails. I don't know of anything in ny though.

Techoma, when you move in let us know and we'll have to organize something. You guys down for taking a weekend off to wheel? Maybe a trip to PA or the ADKs if there are any legal trails/someone who knows where to go.

Maybe things will perk up in the summer haha.

I think not having a close place to go wheeling is why the New York area of the forums isn't very active. If you guys want to try and plan a trip somewhere sometime I'm totally game.

Most of our trips are 4 or so hours away. Nothing LEGAL locally... but we manage.

I got my work cut out for me. I have a friend with a warehouse in West Seneca... maybe we can do Mod days there in winter!!!!

Heated warehouse would be cool! I could bring air tools and such!

I think most of the meets require people driving 3-4 hours in different directions. I think a lot of people in NY also work in the service industry somehow (food, retail, medical), and those don't shut down for the weekends. I'm lucky in that I don't work weekends in IT, but I'm still on call every 4 weeks. That requires me to be able to go in if needed. So I never go more than an hour away. Not to mention the cost of gas.....

I'm an IT guy too. One of the 2 companies I'm down to would have me on call every 8th weekend. I figure the other 2 places I worked... I was always on call so hell... it's a break! And the gas up there... HOLY CRAP! I just filled up today at 3.19 a gallon. Regardless of price... my 14 MPG on the highway make it $$$$! Both companies will be paying me 55.5.per mile as the traveling tech/engineer.
