You probably saw the mailbox at the intersection, right? The road that to the power line is actually public access, the landowner just put their mailbox there so that the mail truck wouldn't have to drive half a mile up a washed out dirt road to deliver bills.

We could likely meet up with you this coming up weekend if you wanted to ride the Sperwell WMA trails on the Talbot County side.

No dirtbikes, but Ride ATVs pretty regularly.

    I was up there today.

Went down to pigeon creek and walked around some by the flint river.

Then went up towards the Nichols Tract area.

And then down to Mt Valley and down the power lines.

It's pretty steep up there, but a fun drive. If you want to do some walking/hiking in addition to driving it would be a good days activity.

been outa the loop for the past couple weeks, super swamped with work and starting a master's program (we'll see how that turns out haha).

I never got alerts with this thread so I figured no one was doing anything! Has anyone seen/thought about the Gulches meet in SC the weekend of March 18? Im trying to go (if schoolwork load permits) and it'd be awesome to head over there with a group from columbus....any thoughts?

sure did. I've done my suspension 4-5 times. Its more intimidating the first time, than anything. It's really easy. I think I can say I've done about 90% of my stuff on the truck. With the 2.0's in the rear, I finally got the suspension where I want it. The truck floats down the road at 70. Looking forward to heading to the Gulches meet, as long as it works out with work and class

That's even better. Glad to hear it's easier than it looks. I've had every intention to hold off lifting until after my factory warranty, but the temptation is ever increasing. I'm wanting to stay pretty modest... probably around the 2" range in the front so I can run factory UCA's for the time being. I'm trying to avoid the whole front differential bearing failures and vibrations that come with going into the 3" range.

For the front I'm trying to decide between 5100's + 884x springs, Bilstein 6112's on #3 setting, or Fox 2.0 Performance series. Any thoughts?

The bilsteins are what I ran for 4ish years and really liked them, especially for the price. Dont know about the 6112's personally but they are def a step up from 5100's (but if you arent going higher than 2 you may be wasting money for what they are designed for). and I absolutely love the foxs but again, I think those a step up from 5100's so all are great options, it more depends on how you intended to use them. If you dont offroad in very rugged terrain (like OHV parks) then I would say staying with 5100's will provide a great ride for the money and still perform on trails and off road.

But thats just my 2 cents. I dont like paying for stuff I dont use (or get the full effect of).

nice man, running TC UCA and Icon 2.5 with resis. Might go full long travel or just get kings and the stock TC LCA and keep it mid travel.

Thanks. yea im debating LT in the future or doing similar and replace TC LCA as well. But the truck wont be a DD at that point so I'm leaning LT haha.

Where are you at around here, not sure if I've seen you?

Very good point, thanks for the advice. I think I'll be going with the 5100/884x combo with the 5100's all around and a 3-leaf progressive AAL in the rear. I'm not going to be wheeling the Taco very hard anytime soon, so a modest lift and good on-road ride is what I'm mainly going for. I can get the whole kit for sub $800. Now it's just a question of when I decide to pull the trigger on it.

By the way, which masters program are you doing? Haley said she thought she spotted your truck at CSU one day a couple weeks ago so I assume you're going there for your courses?

yupp, MBA in Organizational Leadership. They combine it with the course I'm here for at Benning so I get credit hours for that also. They turned it into a 1 year program but its slammed packed!

Make sure you also get the 3 degree shims for your rear end; helps keep the drive train in line to prevent vibrations. I used the shims with my AAL and 5100's in the rear and never experienced the shudder thankfully
