    If you like being closer to things and going out I'd say Temecula. Wine country, mall, old town, casino and ten million restaurants. Murrieta is a lot quieter, but you pretty much need to drive into temecula if you plan to go out.

    What he said. I personally enjoy the people of Murrieta a little bit more. They are a bit more mellow and not stuck up "I live in Temecula so kiss my ass" attitude.

    Murrieta is better as in cheapper.
    Temecula is better as in wine.

    I live in Murrieta on the border with Temecula. Technically unincorporated I think. Low property taxes and I am less than 10 min from the mall, 15 min from Old Town.

    I haven't noticed much difference in the attitudes between the two cities. Most people who live here commute for work and wish they could live in LA or SD; a lot of them act like they are living in Costa Mesa :rolleyes: So much "keeping up with the joneses" here

    Also, the drivers are F!ing horrible. Worse then the average SoCal driver imo

    That said, I enjoy the area as a whole. Less traffic, very low crime, decent schools, low home prices, within 2 hours of everything cool in SoCal. you can't go wrong with either city, but Murrieta is a little cheaper

    agree with everything everyone said. you can't lose either city. if you're driving south for work, i'd say south temec if you can swing it. traffic on the 15 is getting bad around temec into murr.
