Sounds like I'll just be chopping shafts to make em work. Not exactly what ide like. However, gonna wait because I have 2 different sets of shafts coming and one of em is fucking short. Like super short lol

Noticed this week when axial released the new bronco and discontinued the first one, they also discontinued the deadbolt. I guess that 69 dollar blow out was the end of the run. I know the electronics changed to a horizon label for many of the models I find it funny that I got one of the first and one of the last. I was working at a hobby shop when they released and the owner didn't order many of them because the ecx mini was already sitting on shelves and not moving. Now I'm not sure whether to swap out the frame and trans as looking at the rules I could put it back and run zero or leave it and run 1 or two with a tire swap

Finally got a delivery date for the Meus axles.
    February 4th. :bananadead:
@Kwikvette and @Strictlytoyz will be scratched, muddied, and trophies on the shelf before this gets done.
(I actually panic checked to make sure I ordered SCX and not FCX axles last night :anonymous:)

Wasn't the Deadbolt discontinued in December?

I'm pretty sure it was because that's when I saw it removed for purchase from Axial's site. At the same time it went on sale at Horizon Hobby, Amain, and everywhere else. It's when I bought one for a friend for Christmas.

Removed my front lower and upper links to get some measurements. Hit up seller for some guidance and to verify I was sent the correct links. Will post back when I hear anything

    Lengths
    Front lower: 57mm
    Front upper: 45mm
    Front driveshaft: 45mm

Bold to assume I know what I'm doing

It took two transmissions and now it'll take two motors to figure out fitment.

Just glad everything works and is put together so far. Just need a motor, connect the driveshafts, and I can call it done finally :angrygirl:

    Shit that's right, regarding driveshafts.

Did you measure the length driveshafts you need from transmission to axle?

Also, I found it odd that from the two sets of driveshafts I just got, the C10 variant had O-holes versus the D-holes on my Deadbolt set.

They're getting returned anyway but if you want measurements at all let me know.

I don't know what that is exactly, but after a quick search, it seems like the Mini Kumodo is based on size?

    20250124_201500.jpg

The transmission offsets this thing enough to cause issue (albeit minor).

Just don't want to bother running it for that reason.

We have out runners. The outside shell spins rather than internally

    @Kwikvette
Looks like I can use at most a 40mm length front shaft. Found out if I back mount the motor and trans the driveshaft works. I believe that's how they are on a factory scx24 platform? If so that explains the discrepancy. I'll need a shorter front shaft. Should be here Monday

Shit, I forget the motor is rear facing on the SCX24.

I was looking at my own yesterday too cause I thought "maybe I should put the Mini in the GX" but it's too much work.

Soooo, I busted out these "gladiator length" o hoke driveshafts I forgot I had. The black ones. And sure enough the front measures out at 40.5mm. It fits!!! Just hooked up power to motor. No binding through entire travel! We're back in action!!!!

    Nice!

Yeah I bolted them up to just the bare trans and they fit. Should've checked before I ordered all those driveshafts

Although I *MIGHT* keep a set. One of them can fit the GX470...that freaking thing keeps getting upgraded by accident.
