    When I went into my local hobby store last week, I did take note of what they had in stock for reasons like this.

    Only Furitek stuff they have are the bundles with their esc and transmission setup. If I recall, they only had the cedar setup as well.

    No Micro or Mini variations.

    Where do you do your painting? My garage is way to cold, and I live in the "warmest" city in the country.

    Today's mission, get those wheels to vent properly.
    They came with one tiny hole, I turned that into 4 larger holes.
    Also cut a slit in the inner silicone ring between every web support. I tried a hot nail, silicone is a bit heat resistant. Tiny scissors ftw.

    That and baby butt powder wasn't enough.
    The brass wheels are machined pretty tight.

    Took 5 minutes and a round file and made those sporty slots.

    That worked, They vent almost like foam now. 3 more to go. :cool:

    @Strictlytoyz

    I think you had asked about front links and issues with the Micro not having clearance?

    The bends provide a lot of clearance!

    20250129_131831.jpg

    The front end being completely tucked (forcefully compressing both shocks) barely makes the Mini kiss the front driveshaft.

    The Micro being only 0.19" longer, but 0.29" skinnier, means I won't have clearance issues at all.

    In fact I'm glad I put this together (just because I was tired of it not moving) because I found that I needed to cut down the driveshaft by less than 0.125"

    Turned on throttle trim to get it to crawl via cruise control.

    Got a response from LGRP stating that there should only be 1 o-ring on the upper worm gear in their Super 8 axles and that's how they build and ship the pre assembled axles. Doesn't explain why I have 2 on my front upper worm gear and only 1 on the rear. Makes me think they just don't want to accept they forgot to install 2 on the rear and want me to just move on. Looking at a youtube video of the axle being built and lgrp included 2 o-rings which were indeed installed on both front and rear of upper pinion. Link to video below.

    Yup.....thats the one. Wow, they are in stock! Honestly, I wasn't banking on them Being in stock so soon. I just put an order in for $300 of upgraded parts for my Kagama 4xl. Hopefully, they'll be in stock still in a week or two When I can justify spending another $400 on rc stuff. Obviously, then I know I have to buy at least another $400 for The upgraded parts for this as well, servo, radio, tires, wheels, etc.

    Preview of the layout. I'll wrap the wire later. Also plan to shorten the servo cable.

    Played with the links and got them nice and smooth. Cleaned and "honed" the shocks with a Q-tip and drill, 6 drops of peanut oil in each. They were a bit notchy out of the bag.
    Reversed that rear plate as I dropped the rear a bit and needed the clearance.

    Will prolly run the 10 degree skid for now, at least until the weekend when I have the motor mount sorted out. Honestly if hadn't been brought to my attention, I'd be running as you see it. It clears, just off center.

    Switched to the RJX servo I wanted to run originally, it's quieter, aside from the digital whine when under torque, and has a better finish on it.

    and this thing is stupid slow. Almost too slow. It runs smooth at all speeds, smooth uphill, but "jerks" on the downhill, like a gear is slipping a cog. Does it both directions, I suspect maybe the worm drives? You can see it in the wheels going downhill.
    Just a little in this video.

    She crawls sloooow!

    I see now what you mean about the tires - the silicone inserts really don't "smash" as well as foams huh?

    I hear they're super popular for keeping that sidewall stiff, just never ran a set myself.

    As for the jerking I haven't noticed that at all in mine although once my motor arrives and I do more testing, I'll report back if I notice any.

    @Deathbysnusnu

    I was gonna ask, did you cut your antenna short?

    We did that on our track cars, where you cut it back then remove some insulation to leave the actual wire end exposed for your signal. I partially considered doing that on my crawler but instead I looped it.

    That's an SR315 right?

    SR215, antenna is untouched, just short. I may tuck it somewhere.

    What ones?

    My DX6 is my first Spektrum radio (that wasn't from an RTR).

    Just a push button.
