    Dude that looks sick.

After today I totally asked myself if I want to bother with making another body; it toppled over several times so it's all scratched :bananadead:

Tomorrow I'm going to tear into the rear axle.

I'll start by adding the underdrive in the rear as I totally could've used it on some of my climbs. I'll also have to investigate what is causing the weird noise when it moves with weight on it since it doesn't occur when I lift it.

Also sucks LGRP is out of stock. Was thinking of maybe just swapping the rear out with an LGRP Super 8.

Considering also attending this Saturday's competition :anonymous:

I'm thinking the bug might be for display and the Yota for play. It can easily be reprinted. Even though it's heavier, it's all down low on the Yota. The bug has the weight at the very top with that roll cage, which could be removed or cut down, but I hesitate to do that just yet.

Yeah, if I had a 3D printer I'd probably print bodies so they can get beat up as you can easily replace them.

Noticed another slight bind at the wheels up front. After some investigation it looks like my hex nuts on the front axle would tighten up against the outer hub bearing not allowing the front end to spin easily. Causing the motor to overwork and heat up. After grinding the portions pointed out in the photo, theres now a gap between the hex nut and outer hub bearing. Front end is butter smooth with the wheel nuts tightened all the way down, and the motor is staying a lot cooler now.

    @Strictlytoyz

Talk to me about your Super 8 fronts.

You were running what servo before your NSDRC arrived?

Also, what servo mount did you use and would the axle be compatible with other servo mounts?

Having learned that there's a difference between Reefs and NSDRC alone makes shit harder to figure out.

What I mean is, neither does NSDRC or Reefs site provide the mounting width needed for each servo. To make things worse, looking at the LGRP Tremor servo mount also doesn't provide their figures.

Yes, they all provide their exterior dimensions but the holes themselves on the ears are aligned differently.

    Factory ascent 18 servo

Running an nsdrc servo mount, but I see no reason as to why any other mount wouldn't work. I believe the super 8's will accept any scx24 based servo mount. I only went with an nsdrc mount because I knew it would 100% work with an nsdrc servo.

    Hmm ok.

I ask because the 'wording' on their Tremor mount says it's meant to work for their Super 8 axles specifically.

Knowing they already use proprietary shit (looking at you MR24), I didn't want to buy Super 8's and have something I can't use.

Already got a Mini Komodo and Micro Komodo just sitting here new in box.

Yeah idk, the nsdrc mount fits perfectly ontop the front housing making me think any scx24 mount will work. They also said their servo limit straps don't work with nsdrc servos.....but ummmm, I'm running it with an nsdrc servo :notsure:. They finally reached back to me and offered to send my some orings after I sent them their own video showing 2. But my shits squared away now so I declined.

And the worm gears are the same front and rear between both axles right?

The Meus aren't interchangeable but I don't see separate fronts/rears on LGRP site.

Correct, same worm gear front/rear and they also accept aftermarket worm gears

    Dammit nevermind.

I figured I could order all the parts to build a set since I need to buy some tires anyway - the total cost in parts versus a complete axle with hexes are $81 vs $68.

That $13 difference (higher) means better value because rather than buy the stock gears and buy a separate set for underdrive, you spend the $16 for just the underdrive gears alone and skipping having a stock set.

Buuuut the underdrive gears are out of stock :bananadead:

If you do go the super 8 route, I also reccomend getting ujoin axles. More money to spend but it gives you that increased turn angle like the meus axles. Exo and dlux seem to be the go to but exo has been out for a while so I have some dlux axles in mine

    See now that's confusing.

You mean a different brand axle shaft for Super 8's?

These come standard in the Super 8's right - https://littleguyracingparts.com/products/extreme-cvd-axle-shaft-kit-stock-length

And these are an upgrade to the Super 8's - https://littleguyracingparts.com/products/v2-super-8-extreme-cvd-axle-shafts

What other ones are out there?

Yeah so those are the standard and "upgrade" axles. These are the ujoint axles that everyone reccomends

    Exo
    https://exo.us.com/products/scx24-u-joint-axle-shaft-stock-or-super-8

    Dlux
    https://dluxfab.com/SCX24-U-joint-Axle-shafts-V2-p527937530

Currently running the dlux axle shafts
