I did the same thing, and it was battery drain too. Have ran a few thru it trying to diagnose it. You think your ESC was to blame?

Interesting, see there's always multiple sides to every story

I'd probably keep it to wheels/tires, servo, and then upgrade as things break. Wish they had the $129 or $99 price on them but they're still relatively new so maybe I'll wait for the inevitable sale...

    Get yourself a Basecamp.

I *may* get one to compete in "modified" class locally.

Now I'm not so sure. Maybe this is just normal operation? Because now after going back and forth between both lizard pros I have. They are operating exactly the same. I thought the new one was better but now idk

You're running the Lizard Pro, I've got the Lite. Both with the Mini Komodo.
Similar problems. Problem wasn't evident in the beginning for me, but I was gentle with it. Lately I been running it like an RTR though, after the problem surfaced. I think it's the motor myself, and the cheaper of the pair to replace. The Injora Fat Viper is reasonable priced and just a few days out. Wonder if it will fit.

It would be odd that *both* of you had bad ESC's.

I too run the Lizard Pro and have gone through several batteries without issue.

Can you guys capture on video what the issue is exactly?

Appreciate the offer. I know the pro offers more programming options. I would like to narrow it down before throwing money at it. I left the comments on for Youtube, lets see what plays out.
It didn't do this in the beginning, that's the big question mark, what caused it and can it be prevented. ESC is rated for 3s and the motor up to 4s so I doubt the new 3s battery caused it, but seems to have started about the time I started using it. :notsure:

    Keep us in the loop!

And yeah I don't mind. It'll sit in my parts bin as a backup, but remember I also have another Micro Komodo so I wouldn't mind lending out the Mini for troubleshooting.

Going to be interesting tomorrow :anonymous:

If you are on Facebook join the Furitek owners group page and send Tony Furitek a message with those videos. He is typically very quick to respond and will likely know what the problem is just by seeing that.

I think I got it figured out. The 3s battery was partially to blame but not in the sparky way.
That motor is finicky as hell when it comes to the slightest bit of bind. Apparently an obstacle is not considered a bind though....
I pulled the axles apart again. O-rings were trashed. Even though by hand they spun free by driveshaft, and one way by turning the wheels against the worm.
Replaced both O-rings and it got better, but was still there.
Started a parts hunt and found enough shims to place both behind the bearings and on the worm shaft. After trying different variations, centered is the best on these particular axles.
Both axles now spin either direction by the wheel against the worm. You can push it on the floor like a kid now. Never thought such a thing would be possible with a worm drive.
Runs forward and backwards so far with that little buzz just for a tiny instant on startup, then smooth as butter again. I think it was that way before. Either way, it's a hell of a lot better now.

how was the 3s to blame? because someone ran the hell out of it for fun on the carpet and sped up the demise of the O-ring. Common repair on interwebs seems to be replacing that O-ring whenever shit starts to act funny.
Fuck that O-ring, get the proper shims.

Now I want to find better driveshafts and really smooth out that drivetrain.

Also, I don't think these little 2s 250mah batteries I have can keep up with the demand of my setup when the tires get bound. Been watching things in the telemetry tab and the voltage drops below 7 volts when trying to power through a tire bind up. I do have some 3s batteries on the way though so we'll see.
