    Yep, there's that and Celluclay
    https://www.amazon.com/Activa-Produ...=&hvlocphy=9028806&hvtargid=pla-2281435181938
both are basically paper mache in a bag. They work exactly the same way. Celluclay is stronger.
Crumple up newspaper to form your terrain first, then cover it with either one of those. You can use it full form, but it gets heavy and takes weeks to dry. A thin layer over paper dries in few hours to a day.

It's like 7 minute abs around here.
You're 10g lighter per wheel now than I am. I could prolly get there swapping the brass rings for aluminum...
I still can't get over how much lighter the two of you are with the full metal axles.

    @Deathbysnusnu
Motor still whines after the weight loss just not as bad but atleast now it keeps the tires spinning. Will probably still end up swapping to a stronger motor because like you stated earlier the damage could possibly already be done. Kind of like the back mount motor setup as it allows the battery to sit up front adding a little more front bias. Need to trim the body a little with these 64mm tires.

Removed the brass rings. First time full build on scale, 3s battery.

still does a 57 degree incline and everything else I ask of it.
    :frusty:
If I had only known, could have saved around $100 or more. Motor is much happier now and might be ok, although maybe weakened. If I can determine it's the motor itself, I'll go ahead and replace it since it fits so well.

    Really though that's awesome

I remember reading that it isn't so much about adding weight, but lowering the existing weight as much as possible.

You do this after trimming whatever unnecessary weight you can.

I'll have to look it up but this youtuber does long videos on shock placement/angle alone, gravity, and discusses how each change can affect handling, etc.

There isn't much more to remove.
Silicone inserts could be changed for foams, that might knock another 20g off.
I suppose full aluminum light weight wheels to replace the steel stamped. Maybe another 10g?
Smaller battery, arbitrary weight at this time that can be relocated.
Everything else is as it came out off the packages.

True, and removing weight in something like the wheels helps with rotating mass but takes away from that beneficial weight as it sits below the axles.

Guess that's why a lot of people have fun with this aspect of the hobby: tuning.

I'll be curious to see how much my second set of wheels weighs as they're just raw aluminum with the same wheel weights.

@Strictlytoyz and I both ordered Slymeballz too so I know my total weight will go up once I install them.

I like that you can see the rear facing motor. Is that still with the 15 degree skid?

Back from KOH. Some RC carnage, lots of fun spectating, off roading and dirtbiking.

Y'all with you mini Crawlers. I get it more now (but still not more than the 200$ Mark). My ascent 18 saw more runtime by more people than the big crawler.... And has the dust to show it. What a hoot.

    20250208_184815.jpg

And the 1/10th saw a GNARLY tumble in a rock slab rock crawling area. Snapped a rod end (easy fix), bent a stub axle on a rear portal (easy fix), but also actually bent a steel injora rim (impressive). All good tho would rather have these be fuses vs a bent / snapped axle housing etc.

Gonna pick up a set of these wheel rings from hardpark when they're back in stock

    Screenshot_20250209_150234_Chrome.jpg

They also have a 1.74g light weight and 14.54g heavy weight version. They're made to fit the treal type b wheels I originally had on the truck. This will allow me to still use the slymballz I had spec'd for these wheels and tires
