Didn't realize my wheels already came with extra hardware so I've got a ton of backups now.

Figured I'd add all the extras into my hardware box that goes with me to the local course.

M1.4 hardware in various lengths, the MD nuts, o-rings, and wheel hardware all in one

Also, decided to weigh the rig now with the NSDRC servo and 180MAH battery

    @Strictlytoyz

Was able to get ahold of Hard Park RC, and I asked some questions in hopes to learn a bit more.

    1. Front axle - as I mentioned, I'm looking to go this route for a battery on axle setup. Going this route you do indeed have to use their front links as they offer mounting for the front lower shocks. The links that come with the BOA mount bundle are C10 +10mm.

    2. Their links - since the BOA bundle for 24.99 (versus 19.99 for the mount alone) only provides the front lower link, you're still needing links for the remainder of the build. They say their links (even with the odd naming) are made to work with any chassis as they run close to standard lengths with slight differences in shape or a tiny bit more length.

    3. They're going over inventory today - so items showing out of stock may appear as in stock later today or tomorrow.

    4. Their links do indeed use your provided M1.4 hardware. I had to ask and make sure since I saw in the page listings some M2 pivot balls and wanted to ensure I could expect to use standard hardware for installation.

Just not exactly sure what length I wish to go with and since I still have to run my first rig through competition, I'm just trying to learn more abut which way I should go with my second build.

    Someone's gotta ask the questions!

Some of these companies wanna go proprietary and shit and it's like wtf

For example, when I asked you about Super 8 axles.

You can use different front servo mounts, and LGRP does say it supports most, but naturally will suggest their own Tremor mount. If you look at the Tremor mount though, it has fixed mounting ears which either will or will not work with the Reef's RC servo and/or the NSDRC. The Reef's is open by design so it should work but the NSDRC is specifc. Who's to say it will work on the Tremor?

Just like the MR24 transmission where I found out you have to use their specific mounting versus what aftermarket brushed/brushless motors offer.

Then there's Reefs M2 servo horn use, where everyone else uses M1.4.

Let's not even start on worm gears for this axle or that - Meus front are proprietary as well whereas the rears aren't I believe.

Easy stuff to fix and figure out, but it leads to buying more shit than you expect (and just having it go to waste as it isn't used) or not having the right parts because you didn't know you also "need this" or "that".

PS I lied, I just ordered the front axle with dementor links and BOA mount :anonymous:

Any particular reason to install the driveshafts that way. In my smooth brain having the non lipped bigger diameter down at the axle side makes things smoother to slide over vs having the internal spline portion connected to the axle where one creates a few lips for things to grab onto.

Hardpark just updated inventory. Got my wheel rings on the way. Gonna be able to run my original wheels now that I can lighten them up

    Nice!

Yeah they had just updated it and I placed my order already. They were out of Dementor links so when they appeared, I ordered them :anonymous:

    Screenshot_20250212-143907_Gmail.jpg

I figured I needed to get out of my comfort zone with this second rig.

The wheel rings are those things that hold the slugs in them to adjust the weight up front?

If you get the X15 axles, you'll have to bring both rigs out my way!

Where else are you gonna find Meus, Hard Park, LGRP, and X15 axles all in one place? Unless of course you buy a set of each yourself :bananadead:

When you get those X15's, buy me a set as well so I compare them with Meus and HP :burp:

@nd4spdbh , I reversed them, if nothing else the tubes are heavier, so that got them lower. But these being a high pinion design, the rear pumpkin is more of an anchor if something manages to get caught in the driveline, links will drag first. Prolly why I didn't think about it.

You can change your link mount positioning on the chassis end if you want to push that angle in/out a bit.

I know I'll be toying with it a lot next build.

Is that what all the extra holes are for? :D
The front, if changed from the two options available, the links hit each other at full stuff.
I played with the rear a bit, having them parallel thru the full range of motion seemed to work out the best.
With the 10° skid the driveline is virtually flat.

Ah true you are right that worm gear setup puts the driveshaft input up real tall so it wouldnt really of mattered anyways. Previous pics kinda hid that.

Damn thats a clean lookin lil unit.

You've toyed more with the Meus than I have.

Did you find different angles affecting the preload you were toying with when you were swapping o-rings in and out?
