I have Black Labels but they're new, these are the Trail Kings that I bought Slymeballz for.

The tires have been to my local course what, 3 times? Never outdoors.

Yeeeeah, the HP look a bit cheesy being machined with the brass (gold colored) knuckles.

But I'm hoping I get real performance out of their axle.

Were those tires vented? How often were you wrinkling the sidewall on your trips to the indoor course?

    Yeah.
At least it's in the center of the tread so you can plug it.

I don't know how to answer these questions?

The wheels themselves have a hole in the center.

The tires? I don't see any holes in them or anything. Is this a requirement that somehow skipped any instruction manual?

Yeah I'm just pulling them off.

I need a new body so I can't use the rig anyway. Sent an email to LGRP asking them about "expected" use in an indoor only environment.

They're vented now. You can try some CA on the tear to plug it. Vented wheels will help prevent this, otherwise it's a balloon waiting to pop.

    Makes sense.

So you guys are drilling a hole I take it directly into your tires?

I would expect the hole in the wheel to help prevent this no?

I vent the tires with a leather punch or a hot iron. I am very careful of not wadding up the tire. I didn't know if you had a hole poked in them that may have been jagged. I've never torn a tire like that except on high speed stuff where they went pizza cutter

The hole in the wheel is what you want. Holes in tires are another way, but that soft it will tear more. When you squish them, they should collapse easy and make a nice "swoosh, swoosh" sound. If they don't, drill more holes in the wheel rings.

@Kwikvette , when you guys get your Slymeballz silicone, you'll have to do some creative venting as the silicone will plug the vent holes. Cut slits in the inner ring and line them up with the wheel holes, seems to work pretty well.

I'll post back once they arrive as I'll forget this advice (suffer from bad memory loss).

Yeah all the LGRP wheels I've got have holes in them including the one with the tear in the tire.

    20250214_101619.jpg

The FB group says that LGRP will make good on them and take care of me.

Think it's especially good that I'm running their own wheels on their tires right?

drill holes in that inner ring, like 4 of them. (see pic)
When the silicone shows up, maybe do slits like pictured as well. More is better, let them breathe.

I'll have to do this tomorrow when I'm in the garage working.

LGRP is sending a replacement set, as well as another housing since I mentioned the hole not being tapped in all the way holding the bearing.

Really I could tap it myself but I'm unsure if my set has an M1.4 tap/die in it.

Body is fully mounted! Using 2 magnets in the rear and Velcro up front. Total cost $5.98. Now I wait until it warms up enough to use it outside.

    That turned out nice!
Needs a dog in the bed, drooling over the side behind the driver.

You can do what I do and just stand at the window inside, while running the rig outside.

that's like the point of having kids right? get them to do stuff for you... lol

Thanks! I might slowly add more scale details - I still have an interior to figure out how to install. Next focus is painting my 1/10 Tacoma. I already have a couple scale goodies for the bed of it.
