    Great minds think alike :fistbump:

I can't wait until the HP parts arrive so I can get a better idea of how these links and axle will mount up.

I keep checking the HP site but their Dementor SS is always out of stock.

Are you gonna be using the xl chassis you have available now for this one?

    Good question

I guess I can answer that once the links arrive

That's mainly because I need to see if I get any room to clear the battery tray and servo

Most likely it won't and I'll have to buy a HP chassis

Since I've set a hard number on the number of comp rigs I want, either the XL will get built with Mazz links, or they'll get stored away and I'll do a Hard Park build.

One will be my "short" wheelbase (the current build) and the other will be a "long" wheelbase.

A little trimming on that front brace for motor clearance.

A simple spacer under the hood to clear on top. That bulge in the hood was fortuitous.
Light bar installed for pic only. I removed it, have no intention of using it.

Need to get the right pinion for it. The Injora trans came with 0.3 mod gears, looks exactly like the Mini Stellar. It did not come with a pinion. I had to use 0.5 mod gears that I had and they are loud, but just as slow of a crawl.
It also would have been better off with 62mm tires. :anonymous: But these look cool and grip really well. It does the same incline and obstacles the CC does, just with much less finesse. Total weight with 3s battery is 531g, not bad with all the brass, which definitely offsets the top heavy nature of it. ESC is water proof, smaller than the Lizard Lite, and I need to get the programming card to set it right, it doesn't offer manual programming. Stuck with 50% drag brake and reverse for now. Seems to work just as well.

Solved the turn radius problem, added two nuts to each link. Lengthened 3.2mm in the front, it's close to the Cbolt now.

    More boring UTB stuff.
Spent some time with the vertical lathe and shaved 7g off each wheel.

Printed a rear shock mount to match the angle of the newly lengthened front end.

It's now within 4mm of the same WB. Same weight, tire size, motor, axles, etc...
And when I swap the tires, it does everything the Cheat Code does. Those Injora crawler tires are the game changer between the two.
Not sure if that says something about my driving skills or the overall enhanced ability of aftermarket parts builds.....regardless of the brand.

ride height is the same, UTB has the flatter belly.
10 degree motor tilt vs flat/vertical motor.
The only noticeable difference is on the incline, the CC keeps the wheels flatter, the UTB lifts a tire, but still does it on 3 wheels. Prolly just the weight distribution difference more than anything.

Agree the crawler tires from Injora are legit!

Had them on the FCX18 as my first upgraded tires.

I have them and absolutely love 'em. The smaller ones (60mm) are the best indoor tire I've run. The 72mms are great too but a little big for my rigs.

I think class 2 max size is 64. Curious how they went over and under but not 64 like their others.

I am now the owner of not one but two fully functional rigs! The Redcat is lending his wheels and new body to his little brother until his own wheels and body arrive. This is my first RC painting and I learned I should have backed it up in white instead of black. My fade job faded away with the black.

The second picture is before I backed up in black.

How do you like the desert lizards? I've not been a fan of that style previously because of leaking and inconsistent travel. I see these all the time now though and have wondered what the appeal is or why an internal sprung is desired instead.

I've found them to be leak free and very tunable. My daily driver currently has soft, medium length springs, below the piston head, and medium, short length on top of the piston. The shocks come with 9 springs for each shock.
Edit; I also forgot. They come with 1,2,3, and 4 hole piston heads for oil travel. I run 4 holes and 60wt. I like a slow moving shock.

Look at the down travel on this picture.

Threw on my spare super 8 in the rear so I can get an idea of link positions. Might just throw on the front one too and run it with 3 diff cover screws until the spider 9's are back in stock.

These links look pretty badass, definitely made for high clearance
