I'm stoked for you to finish this second build.

Mainly because I want to see what your thoughts are on your MD build vs the Nacho build.

For this Dementor build, I'm going to have to get creative...for example, I ordered the AM32 ESC from AliExpress. First time ever ordering from there so we'll see :fingerscrossed:

Trying to not buy an SCX24 GX... I don't need it... I don't need it...

And all this time I was telling myself the Grom Mojave BLX would be my next R/C, goddamn winter making me want to emulate my 1:1 rig as close as possible to play with inside

I put an order in for links with rcsteve. Deadbolt fronts / gladiator rears and also a set of gladiator +10mm rears to play with. Excited to get this one running and comparing with my ccv3 chassis. I'll also be running slightly longer 45mm NexxRacing shocks

I want to get Hard Park shocks but they're out of stock, and apparently go out of stock rather quickly.

He uses these little covers on the shocks that spin so when your wheels hit the shocks, they won't bind up when your wheel spins against it.

    Magnet glue up went well!

Just had to trim a bit more for the servo horn -

    20250219_134810.jpg

    And the rear tires -

    20250219_134829.jpg

    20250219_134800.jpg

And after toying a tad more with shock mounts, it's now flexing about the same as before when it was on thr XL chassis -

    20250219_135023.jpg

Need to see if I can get it out this Sunday to our hobby shop and run their course -

    20250219_135105.jpg

Especially with the added steering angle due to the skinnier tires -

No performance mods, just screwing around. The gas tank from the FMS power wagon fit between the rails and sits on the unused platform, after a little trim.

Fills out the back a little. I like this look better than the pinched tail, the balance is better too.
Looks like something you'd see on any trail in Colorado, minus the exo cage.

Not gonna paint it, I like the color. Down to 515g with battery now. Looking for some thin, smoked Lexan or packaging plastic for the windows and sunroof. I have window tint film, so maybe I can tint some clear sheet.

That thing looks like a serious performer!

What do you think is weighing you down to be +500g?

Tire inserts most likely, they are a bit heavier than foam. I don't think i'm running anything much heavier than you guys are. The axles are 20g lighter than the Meus aluminum. Motor is 8g more than the Mini was. RX/ESC's should be close. 20g servo. Beats the shit out of me.:notsure:

Then it's gotta be the hard body. But tire inserts...if they're only like 4g each, that's an easy 16g extra alone.

I haven't received notification at all of my Slymeballz being done, but you just reminded me that my rig is about to get heavier once they arrive :bananadead:

I'm digging how short the wheelbase is on your rig. Looks badass.

If I can remember right, the inserts were more like 8-10g each. And I trimmed some of the ribs out.
Edit, and this body is just 7g heavier than the Baja bug.

Oh shit, the inserts are way heavier then. But really, that's to your benefit cause it's below the axle!

What's the body alone weigh (the 3D printed one)

With 3 magnets on each, the bug is 20g, the Xtra cab is 27.7g, but the weight is all in the doors, down low.
