    Hopefully it sidehills pretty well

I do expect it to do well on verticals though

Programming card showed up for the HW Mini24 esc. That thing has a lot of parameters of control, I changed just about all of them for my purposes. The FOC adjustment is cool as hell. It gave me an idea to make some changes that were being thought about for the UTB. It's meant to be short. I tried the D-bolt and the Gladiator rear links on it, other than making it more stable in a straight up hill climb, it suffered everywhere else. C-10 links are what it's made for.
The Fat Viper is heavy, I'll admit it. Seems right at home in the Cheat Code, but too top heavy in the UTB.

    anyway, tldr,
adjusted the FOC on the Mini Komodo, running with the Mini24, and it's fine now. Seems to be made to fit the UTB as it's centered and I was able to remove the shims from the panel. Glad I didn't hack it up. Lost around 15g up top, and lowered what is there.

    Color matched too. :p
Ordered the Injora XHX tires and silicone. 60mm and should let me shorten the front end back to stock, retain the turn radius and maybe do better. The Mud Claws suck for grip, but they do great in the dirt.

Those Pins are the best tires I've run on the small trucks

If I was starting over I'd probably just run them on all of my mini crawlers. Might need to try the 1.9 Pins too...https://www.injora.com/products/injora-s5-xhx-pin-1-9-tires-for-1-10-rc-crawler-4-122-36mm

    Nice truck.
I just wonder how well they wear in the larger sizes with heavier, more aggressive trucks.
Definitely noticing the pin, or pin like tires give the best grip. Big chunky lugs are basically useless on the rocks.

No pics while I was out, there were a ton of people at the hobby shop today so it was really fun

And fuck man this thing can climb!

I did run into some issues though, with many of them being self-inflicted.

    1. My front driveshaft kept popping off. I may order the RCAWD version since it's 2mm longer but it kept falling off since I'm using too long of a front shock.

    2. I could get away with using my current shocks if I incorporate a limit strap. But, I'm also not running the shocks I want to since my springs are delayed (USPS fucking it up again).

    3. Characteristics, this thing drives and handles far differenly than my Mazz setup. You could almost say it's predictable because you can intentionally hang the rear off to the side on a steep climb. But knowing your front tires will pull you up, you'll eventually grab with the rear again easily.

    4. Motor scrapes my front upper links. I'll have to see if I installed them upside down or not by accident.

Depends on the rocks, M/Ts are working pretty well on the larger more jagged rocks in my area because they have larger voids to grab the sharp and exposed edges

Might snag some new wheels for the C2X, AliExpress specials. Both are -8.9mm offset.

    Option 1 - 90g/ea, $14 for a set of 4 lol

    Option 2 - 99g/ea, $15 for a set of 4

I have the Injora stamped ones in grey which are mostly identical (sans not being deep dish offset) to the Option 1 there on my 1.9 tire sized custom build.

Been a great rim, you can mount the hub on either side depending on the offset you want, as pictured they are perfect on my capra based portal axles.

Best thing is being a stamped mild steel they will bend in a hard tumble vs either breaking like an aluminum one would or not deflecting and breaking something else down the line like an axle housing. I had a BAD long tumble down a rock slab at KoH with mine and broke a rod end, bent stub portal axle and bent a rim but those are easy to fix "fuses".

FYI you will have to drill one of the rim halfs and the ring to vent.

These kick ass in every way except ground clearance, but they make up for it in brute grip.

UTB is 9mm shorter WB than the cheat code, and will now climb 58° without lifting a wheel. It outdoes the CC in straight up hill climb.

So I swapped them to the CC, temporally, and it climbs the same degree of incline. I guess smaller is better sometimes. Maybe it's just the overall lowering of the COG.
Might just get another set and deal with the loss of ground clearance.

After the last outing, I changed up quite a few things and it performed WAY better today.

    20250308_133008.jpg

The real achilles heel here is that it's stupid wide.

It can't go over specific bridges because where one wheel riding one edge, the other hangs.

It climbs vertically Very well though but doesn't sidehill too well. Betting if I put together the Dementor, it'd sidehill really well.

Spektrum came out with an update to their DX6C transmitter (and maybe a few others).

It now adds binding to their 2-1 setups that run 'SLT'

Means now I can run both crawlers and my Grom 223S BLX on the same transmitter.

Man, I completely disassembled all my tires yesterday and scrubbed them up with dawn soap cause they were completely smooth.

Did this in prep for today since my Slymeballz were expected to arrive today.

Delivered to the wrong address :annoyed:

Put my wheels together cause I still plan to hit up the local course today. Just sucks I'm out my set of Slymeballz so I gotta give it a few days and see what's up.

At least they're grippy as hell again.

    20250311_110449.jpg

Haven't taken out the Mazz chassis in awhile so I'll take both rigs out today.

Yesterday, my Slymeballz were delivered to the wrong address as I mentioned above.

Well, the mail carrier was able to get them to me today!

    20250312_122122.jpg

    Fuckers look legit as hell

Dismounted my tires all over again and cleaned them up

    20250312_122109.jpg

If you're wondering why these are going on the Mazz build? Yesterday I was able to run with two other guys playing follow the leader, hitting the pre-marked lines and gates that were left from the weekend. We did this for almost 2 hours yesterday challenging each other to stuff.

I was able to hit everything with the MD rig as the Valkyrie. Only difference is the Valkyrie made a few climbs way faster/easier but the really wide axles made a few other areas challenging. That and maybe I'm just getting better with it.

I've got 1.3 wheels coming for the Valkyrie along with some XHX Pins on hand to go with.
