When I built it I bought a few different turn motors, different axles, driveshafts etc etc....i don't have any pics of it with all the updates but I have well over a grand in it. It is cool but silly expensive. I need to put up a rock crawling vid I made. I have a sick video of it somewhere....i look for it.

Velineon 3500 (its a 2 pole and was probably running way to hot)

    Axial recommends a 540 3300 4 pole or 550 can motor

^ Ah, okay. I have the VXL in my truck. That's interesting since the exo is almost a pound lighter than the Slash and the VXL powers that thing no problem.

remember your Slash is 2wd and the EXO is 4wd, the 4wd will put more stress on the drivetrain. That is why you need larger motors or 4 pole motors for 4wd vehicles

I was talking about the 4x4

    EXO - 4.9lbs
    Slash 4x4 - 5.8lbs
    Slash 2wd - 5.6lbs

Not much of a difference between the Slash's and they're fine with the VXL.

hmm, maybe it was just the battery going nuclear that made it catch fire.

I just assumed since it was because of the VXL because the specs are bellow what Axial reccomends

^ Yeah, that's why I find it weird that they recommend a 4-pole minimum when 2-poles power heavier 4x4's with no problem, but then again, it is just a recommendation.
