There is a huge advantage going lipo. With the lipo you have full power until just before they cut off. With the nimh batteries during the course of the race you lose power until the car is running slowly. Yes the nimh is heavier. But that weight is also making the motor obviously run harder.

Remember. The motors are designed to spin the kv rating per volt applied to the motor.
For instance say a 4600 kv motor will spin 4600 rpm with 1 volt. 2 volts would be spinning twice as fast. And so on.
When you race with the nimh the voltage is dropping the entire time. Where as the lipo keeps it's full power until right before it dies. So you have full power the entire race.
    Hope that helps a little.

You will notice a slight power loss with lipo but nothing compared to nimh.

And it being lighter you can adjust the suspension accordingly or add some weight. Either way the power does not drop as fast.

I think you can find some gens ace batteries on Amazon if that helps.

I've tried to explain that a volt is a volt regardless of source, but some insist a li-po makes a model run faster, of course only higher voltage does this, (other than the weight loss) but you understand where I'm coming from, just a flatter discharge curve. That and new vs. old tired batteries.

What I'm about to say here may sound crazy... But...

Buy an HPI Apache SC if you want a tough and badass truck. Then, get the Associated SC8e rollcage (yes, it fits).

A lot of money up front but, you said it's not an issue. And these rigs seem pretty tough especially when you add a rollcage.

The only disadvantage I could see is maybe the fact that it's 1/8th scale could keep you from participating in a lot of races.

Oh wow, after reading through I think I recommended the perfect truck for you. Made to be run on 4S but I think with some caution it would handle 6S. It's got re-branded castle running gear I'm pretty sure.

Also... I just want someone on here to get an Apache SC.. I want one, too.

Fuck it, I'm gonna have to post vids of the C1 instead of the SC.

NOBODY is buying the SC version. It handles better than the C1 and everything?! :notsure: what the frack people?!
