I know what you mean. Especially on the body noise. I like the novelty of SC though.

I love it. Yeah it is but it is actually the safety. I had to covert it because of the Cali gun laws. Stupid bullet button!!
So it is the safety and single shot.

Lol. I can covert it to full auto in less the 30 mins if I want to be a felon. Lol

The RC8.2e is a good buggy, the only issue I know of is the center diff leaks.

The Hot Bodies buggy is a really good deal and a well tested platform, and all of the D8 Hara upgrade parts work with the Vorza.

Xray buggies are very nice (they are made by Hudy)

The Losi 8ight might be getting redesigned soon, but I do know alot of people leave the platform after awhile.

The Durango buggy is also a good choice, but it requires the use of saddle packs, not just one 4s battery. (it shares parts with the Nitro buggy)

Personally I'd go with either the AE, Hot Bodies, or Durango.

    That sucks!!

So it is 10 dollars a day to practice at the coarse. Do that seem reasonable?

MY "local" tracks all charge for track use. $10 for all day access. I'm ok with that because all the local free tracks went under since no one was racing, only playing for free.

Local (not really local, it's the only hobby shop 70 miles) don't charge us anything, but, we've done business with him for near thirty years. The track I posted some pics from, is fairly, still brand new to me, they charge $20.00 a year, you get a key, but no access to water. Race days, they fill these giant chemical storage containers and have a pump for watering. $10.00 per class to race.

    Yeah.
The one indoor track here has practice Thursday nights for $5, races on Saturday, not open any other days or nights, which kinda sucks. And this week it is closed to rework the track for the spring/summer season. The owner said it will be a little milder than the winter setup. The winter setup has a crazy tall triple that I have only seen the 8th scales clear, and my stock setup buggy can barely double it due to the limited run-up (you turn a 140 degree corner and have about 2 feet before the kicker). If I overshoot it in my SC10 4x4, it's like hitting a brick wall.

There is an outdoor track as well that I have not been to yet, not sure if there is any charge for just goofing around. I think it is in a public park but is in a low-lying area that can stay pretty wet.

Other than that, options seem limited. I figured there would be more. If my outer back yard didn't slope 45 degrees down a hill I might build something. Wait, that might be kinda cool, like a Laguna Seca dirt track!

    Yeah.
It's hard to beat the price on those Gen Ace packs, which is probably why they are always sold out. The 5300s I got for my SC were too thick to fit in my Losi buggy, so I picked up a 3800 Venom 35C pack for about $45 based on dimensions. It's a really good pack and I am sure they have what you want, but it's going to be double the price of the Gen Ace at least.

    EDIT: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXZDV9&P=ML

It's 35C and almost $80, but is close to what you want.
