    Yeah.
Yeah, I have heard to use acetone.

Another chemical question: I have no motor spray and the hobby shop is across town. I DO have MAF sensor cleaner, throttle body cleaner, carb cleaner and brake cleaner. I tried the brake cleaner on a PS3 controller that had sticky buttons, and it melted the plastic some, so that is not a good option.

Was thinking the MAF sensor cleaner might work? Really just want to clean out the diffs on my SC10 4x4 without melting the plastic.

When I rebuilt the diff on my SC10 I sprayed it with mean green. It's a degreaser. I used it to clean almost every individual part on my Jato, too. So I know that it won't melt plastic but it really cleans everything up. I picked up a huge ass spray bottle of it at the dollar store for 2 bucks.

    Yeah.
Thanks, duh, why didn't I think of that. I have plenty of that Purple degreaser that I use on my bike chains, same as the green stuff.

    I'd say so.

I need to rebuild mine again, probably. Thinking about just getting a ball diff. I want my diff to be quite a bit stiffer than it is.

    Yeah.
I used 7,000 weight in the back and 30,000 weight in the front -- the front is quite a bit stiffer than the back. Just use a heavier weight oil to stiffen it up before going the ball diff route -- they may be adjustable and smoother at first, but they get torn up and gritty easily.

I used this in hope of stiffening it up. It rolls super smooth. Don't think I used enough, though.

Get a Tupperware type bowl that all four tires will sit in, with lid in place, (cause the acetone evaporates very fast if not) pour a inch or so in seal top and wait, time can vary depending on type and amount of glue used, flip tires and repeat. I understand most tires come with new foams, and with this method you will HAVE to replace foams, they will swell up big as hell.

You can also boil off tires, but this seems to just break the bond between tire and rim, you can still see the glue on both surfaces, where as acetone dissolves the old glue. I've even hacked them off with razor knife, and cleaned the rim groove out with a Dremel, total hack style.

I'll post up link to it once I upload the video. Turned out pretty cool.

Tony, you have a TMAXX, yes? I'm working on one for a friend. I think at some point this truck has landed on it's motor top pretty hard and this has caused the screw holes on the top side of the motor mounts to be stripped out.. All except one. I think this is the culprit of all the stripped spur gears.

New motor mounts? Re-thread it? just JB weld that shit?
