    Cool Thanks for the info!!

My other 2 cars were from Tamiya. Great cars but always had problems with the nitro motors. Parts were ALWAYS a PITA to source. Used a lot of glue and zip ties to hold things together.

Would you guys recommend going all out and getting the Slash "ultimate" RTR. Or save the money and get the basic RTR and just upgrade as parts break/go bad? Is the "ultimate" worth the +$140 for aluminum parts and upgraded shocks?

Again, I'm not "up" on all the Traxxas lingo. "I" can't ever recommend a RTR model. If you don't build it, how the hell are you gonna know how to repair it? And face it, you're gonna have to repair it at some point in time. What all is the difference between the two?

I completely agree with your statement as well. I'm sure if I get into this I will be going back to the Kits. I still remember building my plane and how much fun that was. I knew how everything went together and could fix it.

Basically the difference between the 2 is the following list is installed and ready to go:

    Blue anodized aluminum C-Hubs
    Blue anodized aluminum Steering Blocks
Blue anodized aluminum Rear Hub Carriers
    Blue anodized aluminum Axle Nuts
Hard anodized coated Big Bore Shocks with titanium nitride shafts
Front and rear Swaybars with extra stiff Swaybar Set
S1 compound officially licensed BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A Tires
Sealed silicone filled Center Diff (installs trackside in just minutes replacing the torque control slipper)

Watch this. He talks about the difference/pros and cons between the rtr and the ultimate.

Doesn't come with a radio. But you can get a 2.4ghz radio at a great value here. 40 bucks! (I've got one and have no complaints)

    http://www.hobbypartz.com/fsgrco.html

That same website sells the charger littldvl was talking about, along with LiPo batteries at a great value.

Also, you may be skeptical about the unpainted body, but if you wanna bash the best thing to do is coat your body with bedliner. It'll last much, much, much longer.

PR, but still, its way too much regardless, shipping is lower on things that qualify as "parts express" on their website, which the motor is not unfortunately. Hopefully the package is not lost :(
