I've always liked Serpent's as a whole (I would love to race on of their 1/8 On Road chassises), the Off Road line-up seems to have a strong following and perform very well.

IIRC didn't one of your friends get the AE 8.2e buggy? If so I'd lean more towards that because you can work with your friend on setups and the possibility of help with extra parts you break something on a race day

Yeah, there are two buds with new ones (RC8.2es), and the closest hobby shop (motorcycle shop, that's carrying more and more stuff) owner runs one as well, so, he's has all the parts for them as well. It's less than a mile from the house. Yeah, it makes perfect sense, but I want something different, just to be different.

They reverse engineer everything. My clone 450 heli (HK) will accept every single part from an Align 450 T-Rex.

Couldn't wait until tonight to trim the body as I want to spend most of the weekend crawling so here are a few shots of the body after it's been trimmed.

I went ahead and took out the entire flare/quarter panel. It still rubs a small amount at the bottom edge of the rocker but I can deal with it. Much better than raising the body. I want to keep the COG as low as possible on this thing.

Will work on the bumper tonight, or just remove it so I can drive it this weekend and deal with it later.

Going to work on a few small scale things over the weekend also - sleeping bag, chain/rope, etc...

Online search for an Axial SCX-10 Honcho. They usually run around the mid $300s.

What is the purpose of running the 2.2s?

    Thanks man!

TowerHobbies.com is running one of their usual "Spend $XXX and get $XXX off" coupons. Looks like if you spend more than $230 they will take $30 off. Would make the truck itself $325.95 and then $9.99 for shipping - $335.97.

They also have Easy Pay which splits your total amount due into three monthly payments - no credit checks, etc... I've used it twice and it's great.

Just be sure that whatever card/account you use to pay is going to be around and it will have the money in it. One missed payment usually means they forbid you from using it ever again. A buddy of mine had that happen and it took him proving the funds were there for them to remove the ban on it.

Same as putting bigger tires on a real truck...mainly looks. :p
