Hey dude, I just realized that I won't need my 3-link truss anymore after tonight.

I can ship it to you for like $5 on Tuesday if you want. It will be small so I can do overnight or 2nd day from work no problem.

    Let me know.

I don't remember which one I told you.... mcpx would be a steep learn for first helicopter but doable

Just finished installing the Axial 4-link setup on my SCX10 and now I'm getting a weird driveline/transmission whine. The pinion angles don't seem bad at all and there doesn't appear to be any binding - just a weird noise/shakiness.

Here are two quick YouTube videos. Sorry for the high-pitch drone of the motor, I was trying to get the phone closer so you could hear the actual driveline noise.

    Axial SCX10 Driveline Noise & Vibration After 4-Link Install - 1 - YouTube

    Axial SCX10 Driveline Noise & Vibration After 4-Link Install - 2 - YouTube

    Any ideas?

    Thanks much!

I'd rather not spend a bunch on my first one. I'd prefer to get a cheaper one that I could crash without crying a few times.

Once I get more comfortable, I'd move up the ladder and get bigger and more expensive each time.

    I'll check out the mcpx.

    Thanks!

The mSR I think is the ultimate first helicopter...but you can't really fly it in a wind much. Its fixed pitch but still very fun!

You get something and let me know... I can run you thru the basics of learning to fly before I leave.

I was pushed to the 120 sr for my first bird, and I love it! It does have a fly bar, but it is Fixed pitched. It is also big enough to fly outside with little wind. It is cheap, durable, and a great starter bird...good luck!

Was it binding when you had it on the ground testing it?!?! That is weird.

Try putting the 1.9's back on and see if it does it. Did you use the plastic or metal ends? I was told to use plastic because the metal joints bind sometimes

Logically... its supposed to the the same bird as the mSR.... but it flies nothing like the mSR. The blades need less pitch in my opinion....because I can never get it down, even in forward flight. Have to blade stop it to descend...lol. the mcpx may be a steep learning curve...but its as stable as a coaxial and he won't have to buy another helicopter for a long time... since you can do basic aerobatics on it. I still can't get it to 3D. LoL

    Basically I'm saying I hate the 120SR

I understand what you are referring to with the FFF. What radio are you using? I have the DX5 and love it. I also have a DX4e that collects dust (came with the sim)

Currently DX7. I fly a lot of stuff though. Will probably upgrade to 9505 soon. I couldn't even begin to name what I have. My main helis are a trex 600 and I just picked up a 500 recently for 100 bucks. Both flybarless.

Both the dx4 and 5 radios have very stiff sticks. Getting different thumb knobs helps but I don't think I could do much with those radios. Might not be bad if you're a pincher though.

I am not a pincher, but honestly I have the fixed wing notched adaper on mine:anonymous: Helps a lot with the altitude of my little 120SR. I am still a beginner by far though. I was going to make the jump to CP whent the 450x came out, but decided to drop the cash on my truck instead :pout: I haven't flown in probably a month or so. Since I mastered my 120SR I got board with them. I am thinking about dropping the $$ on a SCX10 now. But I am trying to save up the $2k for my rear bumper and other things by July. I am already half way there, but still need the cash for other things as well...

No, there doesn't appear to be any binding at all when I'm actually driving it. With the weigh off the tires it does that weird stutter thing.

RCC guys seem to think it's driveshaft alignment and it looks like the alignment is off a little bit. Time to tear it down one more time.
