I know nothing about "crawler" RCs, but the first thing I would check would be the lead that comes from the steering servo to where in plugs into the receiver.

I'm not a pro by any means but I agree with t4, check the lead going from the servo to the receiver.

Are you able to manually articulate the servo? What kind of battery are you running?

I've done a visual inspection to make sure everything is still plugged in tight, and there aren't any wires pulled loose. I can move the steering by hand and it doesn't seem to bind or anything. When I turn the remote I don't even hear the steering servo attempt to do anything.

Do you happen to have a spare servo you could plug in and try. Wouldn't have to mount it or anything, just trying to narrow down the problem. Would a friend perhaps have one you can try? It's channel 1. The way I remember it is "1 to turn, 2 to burn", corny I know...

No this being my intro to real r/c's I don't have any spare parts and I don't know anyone around that has any r/c's at all.

I forget which radio they come with but if it's applicable, you could try rebinding the radio.

Alright. This is going to sound crazy, but I'm trying to see if it's a servo, or receiver problem. You say throttle works, correct? Does the receiver have a aux or a batt slot that's open?

I was thinking the same thing. IIRC, it should have a Batt slot open.

On that receiver, can you power it up through that slot, some you can, some not. What brand radio is it?

I'm going off the assumption it's the Axial AR-3 receiver with the AX-3 transmitter. I could be wrong though, as I know very little about the AX10s.

    That's what it is...

I thought maybe I already understood what you were getting at. I unplugged the steering servo and plugged it into the "Batt" spot. As soon as the plug makes contact the steering servo will operate for a split second and then stop. If I unplug it and then back in it will operate for a split second again.

Axial is not known for their RTR servos. It is prob the AS-2 servo and it will die after a couple of months. Hell, mine was dead in a couple of days. I would recommend going and getting a servo from Hobbico. Hobbico is basically a Hitech servo with a different name for cheaper. I picked my hobbico up for I believe 65 or 70.

They are build in the same place with the same parts.

I didn't know that about Hobbico.

As soon as I sell my E-Maxx I'm getting the Hitec HS-5646WP. The stock one is doing fine so far.

Hey, by the way, do you know how these guys are mounting the Summit bumpers? I think they look badass but can't find a pic of how they are mounting them.

Ahhhh there is a company can't think of the name that makes adapters for bumpers and bodies. I believe it could be RPM maybe

What amount of torque do these things need? I would look at a Solar servo for under $20.00.

So, it just goes until full lock? That my be normal (not familiar with these radios) cause its not getting a signal to tell it what to do, make sense?
