i need a replacement servo for the throttle in my car, right now it has a hitec hs-311, and from what I've read the quality of those is hit and miss. any servos you guys have experience with? i would like to keep it under $15.
    thanks

Take a look at Solar, posed to be good for he money. What are the torque requirements of said servo?

ok, i got the throttle servo to work but the steering servo has a dead spot.
as for torque requirements, I'm not sure but i think 150 at 6v or above would work good.

What are your guys thoughts on a trade i got offered for my traxxas 69' camaro. Guy whats to trade straight up for a rtr (with axial 2.4 rx/tx), traxxas rustler vxl with every rpm upgrade and upgraded shocks and 3 bodys.

the 69 camaro i have is semi scratched up, the only time i tried ot run it, there was a issue with no reverse, could may have been in the settings, to me it seems like a alright deal

i found what i think is the servo that is in there now, the info on the servo is gone but, i thinks its 133 oz/in. so 150 oz/in should work good.

i found this on ebay and it equates to about 180 oz/in, the only thing im worried about is ive never heard of the brand. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-HD-St...344?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc7142a80

A 150oz in a bunch IMO. I ran 40 for ever. On throttle, I'd guess speed will play a factor as well.

do digital servos require a different type of receiver? or can analog and digital servos be run off the same receiver?

i really messed up, i didn't think to test the receiver before i ordered the crystals for it, turns out its messed up inside somehow, it wont even try to center the servos. so now i need to figure out if its worth going 2.4 or just find a 27 mhz or 75 mhz am receiver.

    parts i have now are:
tq3 27mhz transmitter and receiver with matching crystals, but the antenna got hacked so it doesn't have range

and hitec lynx with matching crystals and a screwed receiver.
any thoughts on what to get and why? i dont imagine there would be a way to repair the antenna, is there?

now that is very tempting. i'll probably do some research on it maybe get that and a 75 mhz rx for my electric car.
i forgot how expensive this hobby is, my free car is up to ~$35
    and i still need a servo $20-40
    some spare glow plugs
    and more fuel.

The reason i dont drive the camaro is its a limited edition, most people that have them keep them in the box, I am just having a hard time seeing a traxxas car will be worth something down the road.. but people ask $300-500 for one new in the box.

I never put any lipos in storage, i charge them and run them in what every they fit in when i get a chance, have been running more boats then off road latly but with winter coming in ill be back on my offroad rigs.

Seems like you would have more fun with the rustler. Id hate to have an rc sit on the shelf expecting it to go up in value only to find out it sat there for nothin.
