Buddy just bought a used nitro off RCT for a song, in excellent shape. He's thinking of converting it to E-power. He's already got a RC8.2e and a RC8Te (converted of course). I ask why he bought the Durango, he sad the deal was to good to pass up. As far as paint goes, I'm just gonna match my other models.

Picked up a new Traxxas Slayer a few months ago. Just saw this thread... Been looking into changing some stuff out, now I'm wondering if I made a smart buy. Some stuff is interchangeable with the Revo, but not all. And the wheel nut size makes it real difficult to find option wheels to change out. Other than that, I feel like a kid again when I play with it, R/C's have gotten so damn fast since I was a young.

The slayer is the nitro 4x4 traxxas sct right? Don't those use 12mm hex wheels?

Yes, and no.... 12mm seems to be the most common size for hex wheels, but the Slayer uses a damn 14mm... I heard there are conversion hubs you can get, they just wide the wheel base a little, not a bad thing, especially at high speed.

Right now I'm stuck with only using Traxxas dual profile wheels, 2.2/3.0, or straight 3.0 which I don't think exist, or not with a 14mm nut anyway.

There's some people with some really nice R/C's on here

    What he said :p lol.

Currently has a boosted 17.5 in it but I'm not a big fan of boost. I'll throw the 10.5 in it then eventually move up to an 8.5 when I get used to the extra power.

    Random November update:

Went to practice tonight and the truck feels so dialed, I was almost bored driving it at times which is excellent. Before tonight it required every ounce of focus I could muster to keep it in line. I guess I have to give minimal credit, and I can't stress minimal enough to MJB for suggesting i get rid of the drag brake and reduce brakes down to 50% This was a pretty significant difference from 100% brake (which made me spin out in turns when i went into them) and 10% drag brake (which made me spin out when i let off the throttle) and I turned my throttle travel down to the minimum where it wouldn't have too much power and spin out which was 90%

Some other things I dicked around with while I was messing with the dualsky esc was I reduced start mode by 1 which will make it have a little less punch off the start and I changed the throttle curve from linear to -exponential which does the same thing.. the combo made the 8.5T very drivable for the iffy track conditions (we're starting to see some significant potholes, like 1/8 track potholes) develop. tonight was the first night I felt like my old self aka like 2006 when I used to race a lot, feels good, now I just need to transfer that to winning haha

In other news, I bought fuel for my 1/8 so mjb would leave me the hell alone about it and word on the street is next friday (day after thanksgiving) the guy may open the track early so I'll be able to run my 1/8.
