Anyone into R/C?

2s Lipo and 6s nimh are the dance size.

My short course truck will take either 6 or 7 nimh/2 or 3 Lipo. I've been using 7 cell nimh, but am transitioning to 2s Lipo with the brushless upgrade.

I have a different truck coming in the mail that can only use the 6/2 sizes, so to keep from having to buy more batteries, I am just going to turn the 7 cell nimh into 6.

stock body was junk. i broke it in a day, so i picked up a proline flo-tech body and painted it to match the tacoma. also painted the wheels. may have to get the Helion tires modled after the MTR/Guard Dogs, so it really matches the tacoma

I can't wait for the brushless to come in. UPS says monday, so i should be running it tuesday. New battery and ESC programmer get here friday, along with the rock crawler, so i'll have some stuff to hold me over for the weekend

 

i got my new esc today and wired it up. ill post some pics when i get to work lol

michael, is that battery hard wired to the esc?

 

it uses 4mm bullet connectors. all my batteries use bullets so i figured i didnt need a deans on there. some people like it some dont. i like that theres less stuff in there lol

 

yeah, it makes for an extremely clean install. looks good.

wish i coulda used bullets on this install but i have some packs that dont use bullets for my 1/8th scale.

 

at least the deans still keep things clean and look pretty good with the heat shrink.

speaking of wiring, do you (or anyone) have a preferred wire brand or type? i'm gonna go out on a limb and gues that this motor/esc combo i have coming won't have all of the wires i need. i have some 10g automotive wire i can use, or is it better to use something made up of finer wires, more similar speaker/amplifier wires?

 

10g is pretty thick for rc stuff especially 1/10. i mean it wont hurt anything but it might make the install a bit harder. but i really like the deans ultra wire. usualy use 12g wire.

 

I probably have some 12 and 14 laying around. i just know i have a 100' spool of 10g out in the garage.

 

ive been really into the installs of my electronics lately lol when i first started you would have cringed at my electronic installs lol. having an awesome soldering iron and good wires is always key to a clean install. oh and shrink wrap too

I ordered something from AZ, coming to Cali. it shipped this service called ontrac. they seriously lied about coming to my apartment on the 1st day of delivery and dropped it off at the main office on the 2nd day so it took 3 days to get my package. I filed complaints on that

USPS was supposed to take something from Chico, CA to my house which is a 3 hour drive, it went to west Sacramento and they sent it to PA. I was furious.

Then I order from Amazon and it takes them 6 business days to send my shit out.


that is seriously all in 1-1.5 months

 

That all happened in like 2 weeks and it was fucken HILARIOUS hahahahah
