Someone found time for that :D
I think I'll be stepping back from the rc hobby and truck mods for a bit reason being the last truck mods comes with even more changes (baby seat :D).
I'll step back into the shadows and be :spy: your cars and mods.

Turns out that you get free shipping on orders of $150+ at rpphobby

Found that out in the middle of checkout for almost $300 worth of gear for me and my buddy...we were combining orders to try and save on shipping. ..free is awesome

Well that's probably true, haha. But this house buying crap is putting things on hold and me and my gf are expecting a new addition mid September (just 10weeks in so were still in the first trimester). Hoping everything goes good this time around

I hate to go with the safe choice, but i'd say a 4x4 slash. If you're actually going to be competing, there are better trucks out there, but for a mixed track/bash short course, that's going to be a good one. if not for any other reason, you'll get more enjoyment out of it becuase wherever you go, there will be parts in stock. nothing worse than looking forward to a day at the track, and breaking a part on the first lap that you don't have a spare of, and then find out that the shop doesn't carry that model or make. you won't run into that with a slash. only thing to look out for is that there are like 6 different versions. friend of mine bought the ultimate. little more pricey, but it comes with a lot of aluminim replacements of the parts that typically wear out or break. also has the brushless and all already set up. VLX isn't the fastest, in the brushless world, but it's more than enough to keep up with/beat everyone else if you can out drive them.

    i know the feeling

    :frusty:

My slipper got loose a year or so ago and I put the stupid thing on a shelf to deal with later

Forgot to care for the batteries...so when I came back around to it and started fiddling...realized my batteries were beyond saving...so theres $60 gone

Then I run the first pack and blow out my last plastic driveshaft

    another $30 gone

While replacing driveshafts, started fiddling and mixed up plugs and thought I killed my ESC

got that straight, another couple packs and now my motor is making all kinds of noise, and I've stripped out the cheap plastic servo horn...while fiddling with the servo horn, noticed my steering links are getting worn to the point that my steering is suffering...soo...ordered some Vanquish titanium links

While ordering the steering links and servo horn, went ahead and added aluminum links and a new servo (just in case it's not just the horn because it seems to be struggling to move too)

figured while I was ordering, I should prob go ahead and pick up some new wheels and tires...so snagged some Axial 2.2 Maxxis Trepadors and i forget which Axial wheels...but theyre black and beadlocked

stuck a stock axial 20T motor in the shopping cart too since I'm expecting mine to give out at any point

I happened to be sitting at my buddy's apt while doing all this, and he had me throw an Axial light kit and a couple of scale accessories in too so we could save on shipping

next thing I know...a loose slipper has cost me $300...I could've just bought another daggum Wraith at this point

Turns out the E-Jato is efficient! went out to a big park/forest after work to play around. two 5200 mah batteries and a single 4000 mah, yielded just shy of 2 hours worth of run time. only two 5 minute breaks to swap batteries and do a quick visual inspection during that time.

I'm hoping that the only stuff I have to replace from now on would be because I want to upgrade...not because it's broken
