Hi all, I just picked up a used HPI Baja 5B 1/5 scale. This is my first real RC so any advice before I fire it up?

 

haha, go big or go home. I can't give you any advice though, bevcause i'm still in the drooling stages over the Losi 5T

YES! got to drive one of those the other day. kid that works at the shop down the road from me has one, and let me take it for a spin in the field across from their shop. they have a shiny new one on display too

in other news, I may be buying a house in Lusby now, instead of renting. if that happens, 100% building a race track in the back yard.....but i'll need a little help doing so

Well ill be down to help man, im not too far from lusby. Also in that news the offer I put in a few weeks ago was accepted and my settlement date is april 3rd . Downside is its a smaller house then what I wanted but the house is in great shape as opposed to a house that was a dump but had a Amazing garage/loft behind it..

My buddy has this as well as every 5th scale hpi makes, I'm going to pick one up next month. At $899 it seems like a sweet deal.

 

Thanks man! It has a attached single car garage, not much room to expand but I'll do a backyard shed at some point.

 

party time at the new place! just gotta convince the fiancé about buying a house. The financial benefit makes it completely worth it vs renting in the area, but such a big decision is making her a little uneasy.

 

lighter weight shock oil, and upgraded, if not dual steering servos. it's a beast otherwise.

 

I'll be moving again, after about a 3 year stay in lusby.

 

fix wraith with non stock, upgraded parts unless you've got a yearning for a different platform....

 

Sell the wraith!!!! i love the r1. haven't driven one, but it jsut looks so cool. and the design looks to have huge potential for custom parts if you like to make them yourself.

 

R1 might be my next one. Not sure yet. I want a slow rock crawler

 

get it in, build it, and then bring it to the shiloh ridge wheeling trip march 7-9 so we can see it in action. i'll have all of my RCs (that are running) there

 

i hear ya. i usually just plop down on the couch afternoon and work on my RCs with the tv on for an hour or two. little bit each night usually has me up and running for the weekends
