I would have to give the bank a letter saying where the money went. The loan officer told me that I would have to explain anything like that. If I sell something and money shows up in my account, not only do I have to write a letter, I have to prove where the money came from which is ridiculous. I'm just playing it safe and not doing anything out of the ordinary till I get my keys.

I know! I don't think he knows what he has..

Yeah I can see why but I was talking to some of the older guys at work and they said there was hardly any hoops to jump through when they have bought their houses. One said he only had to show one pay stub, now they want me to send them every pay stub I get throughout the entire process until they hand me my keys. This has been a learning experience and a huge headache. I can't wait to be done! To keep this on topic, my house will be 10 min away from a sweet outdoor shortcourse track! I'm planning on getting back into the hobby when I finally get moved in.

Losi 1/24 scale per chance? mine does about 25 on a 2s lipo, so 30+ doesn't seem too far off for a 3s. and other than some worn out diffs, I have yet to break anything on it. brushed is $110, brushless is $150. or if it was a really really small one, they make a 1/36 the scale. that won't do 35 though.

Associated reissued the RC10 gold tub in a limited run. There are still a few around, but they are getting tougher to find. I have one of these, the latest SCB RTR from associated. Pretty sweet out of the box

the chassis is a gold aluminum tub-style chassis. The RC10 was the gold standard back in it's day.
I couldn't tell ya what an original is worth, but I am sure one could quickly figure out the market by watching a few sell on e-bay. People are definitely buying up vintage RC buggies. That said, reissues have hurt the resale of the originals.
They do look cool, but like all 2WD buggies, they are a challenge to drive.

no doubt. I was surprised the difference it makes when I took the 2wd out the the track for the first time last week. i'll make me a better driver with the 4wd though. really makes you think about what your doing, because if you don't work the turns perfectly and really focus on throttle control, you don't make the jumps......and nothing makes you cringe quite like turning your rc into a 10 foot high lawn dart

haha, no doubt. I put way more time on my 4wd Twin Hammers. Most of the time I prefer running more complex terrain.

I love the tougher terrain. between the rock crawler, 4wd track trucks, and the summit, there's not a lot I can't run on, but I've found in the last week or so, that since it's hard to find real difficult terrain sometimes, that if I put some all terrain tires on the 2wd and run some medium terrain, I have an absolute blast. plus, the 2wd does some crazy backflips :D

Fun, now i am getting antsy.. I am sitting amidst a winter deep freeze and 6' of snow. It has been a few months since i have run any RC's. I find pretty limited enjoyment out of it in winter. There is too much effort in cleaning and too much getting stuck.

It sounds like you are really proficient in crawling. My Twin Hammers crawls pretty efficiently, though i suspect it could benefit from a better ESC. But man it is an addiction cranking it around the random rocky/muddy riverbank terrain in the summer.

i have a 4 wheels steer, solid axle crawler. it's only 10th scale, but very cable. then there's the summit. it has a low gear and locking diffs, but simply because it's 1/8th scale, there isn't much it won't go over.

Not that i have snow to deal with, having been in Florida and Texas for the last 5+ years, but whenever i get something new (electrinic wise), i make sure to get it in a waterproof version, or in the case of the reciever, put it in a waterproof receiver box. it makes life sooooo much easier. just spray down the vehicle with a hose, or toss it in the shower afterwards and let it dry out.

Thought this was an interesteing comparison. these are the most recent 3 wheel/tire combos for the short course-gone-truggy. I carry a good 8 or so different pinions around in my tool box to make all of these different sized tires work in all of the different terrains. current track tires (that i love) are the j concepts on the left.

Don't want to get ahead of myself, but things are looking good on buying this house. if all goes well, i may be signing a contract on it next week  if so, i'm going to start planning out an RC track. sits on almost 3/4 of an acre, with the majority of that being a fenced in, perfectly flat, back yard. perfect for a race track, with enough room to build a rock course along the back fence or in one of the corners. Charge your batteries and get your shovels you Marylanders :D

The J Conepts get great reviews. The stock tires on my Associated SCB are nearly identetical. I love em.
    How sweet is that!

I was amazed when i put them on. such a grippy tire. even just holding them, you can tell that they are far supirior (on the track) to the other two tires. I got lucky though. track i go to has some pretty bigh jumps. i cracked a wheel on one of them, and the j concepts wheel/tire combo was in stock. guy recomended them to me, and i bought them without doing any research on them. couldn't be happier.

Its always nice when shit works out like that. Based on what i've read, and apparently have experienced, he steered you right. Just checked my SCB, the tires are the Bar Codes from JConcepts....ha! I should have known that! It is a pretty sweet set up. Came with a brushless system as well.
