Eric, do you have a picture of the inside of your Revolt? I'm deciding what to do with the batteries/how to secure them. if i find that the water cooling tray is pointless, i may just kill two birds with one ston and reinforce the hull while building some sort of securing system at the same time.

No pics off hand, I just epoxied 2 carbon fiber battery plates off kintec racing. Batterys on 4s don't get really hot, 6s is when they do in my experience.

This is the prop I'm talking about:
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=octsb-m545

Never tried the water cooled trays. Look cool but imo not needed for the revolt.

My motor and ESC are fine, it's the batteries that get hot, which is why i was looking into the cooling trays for them. what discharge rating are the ones you run? mine are 30c. may have to check out some 40s or higher.

i'll have to source the prop from elsewhere. looks like they're out of stock. also looks like they're tacking on an extra $20 for ballancing and sharpening

i like the carbon battery plate idea.

I run 40c in everything pretty much but a few crawlers. In my boats iv never over headed a battery. I also use soft packs in boats.

Yeah to buy a s&b prop is a lot but it definitely takes some time and skill to do it properly. Look on offshore electronics forum, its a decent boat forum and good to find hulls/parts/props.

i've ballanced, sharpened, and polished full sized props. assuming it's the same thing, just on a small scale for these guys? i'll check out the furum.

I'll start buying 40c+ packs the next time i need batteries. mine are also all hard case, which i'm sure inhibits cooling. maybe i'll take a couple of the 5200 mah batteries out of their cases and and put some of that plastic heat shrink around them.

Yeah same principal, just with a small file and a prop balancer. Iv done a few but got a ways to learn, haha.

I usually run 40c 5000 packs. I have 4 sets so that's plenty of run time.

Guess i'm gonna have to go online for the next pair of batteries. local shop has up to 30c, then it makes a jump to 70c, which is pretty overkill.

Actually have an order from hobby king coming in today. not batteries, but still fun things :)

cool buggy. is that a B3? I was thinking about tossing some paddles on my B4 for some sand play, but i think the e-jato will be better suited for it.

that's the one. got it RTR, and have tossed some of the "race" upgrades on it as well as some new rear tires and a high clearance rear wing.

it surprised me too. couple little tweaks/upgrades, an i was keeping up with 4wd short course trucks. granted they weren't the best drivers on the track, but still an impressive little machine. when the shop owner told me he'd give it to me for $40 less than that, i couldn't say no. glad i didn't, because while it's not my fastest around the track, i think it's the most entertaining.

you still gonna make it to jambo?

friend of mine flew back to visit his family this weekend and is picking up some of his old RCs to bring back to Houston. one of them is that gold chasis.

guy i run at the track all of the time with has a slash platinum. Honestly, there are some very unneeded "upgrades" on it, and some of the aluminum parts, while pretty, don't work as well as the plastics. The low CG chasis is a must, and the upgraded shocks are nice, but most everything else is more show than go. I've took the b4 out to bash around onece, and it was actually pretty good. just can't run in grass too well. for a n all-around car, i'd do the SC10.

I'm pretty sure Becky wheels with 31s. she did well last time we were at Barnwell. granted she has lockers, but still impressive with small tires.

however, if you want to use the B4 for an all around car, you can always gear it down and toss some big tires on it for when you're not at the track. I have to say, it looked pretty cool with my short course trenchers bolted up.
