Anyone into R/C?

I just did my first one Friday night. Pretty happy with it.

Making progress on the crawler revamp. main structure is done and it's a true roller now. next step is to build the supports for the battery and electronics, and then finish bracing and gussetting everything. They may be changing the date, but the local RC shop is having a "most unique rc car/truck" competition this saturday. only requirement is that it's drivable, so my goal is to have it up and running before then. top prize is $250 and a bunch or swag/gear.

i originally was going to, but i kind of like the raw look. sort of a steam punk meets RC.

functionally, that means that i don't have to strip paint if i ever need to change/add something.

still up in the air though.

 

i'll have to see what it looks like once it's done and go from there. gonna be a lot more tube in there for the final product.

I think rear is good but front just doesn't look right

Wider bumper in the front would deffinitely fit it well. if it were mine, i'd have ti sitting a little lower, but that's jsut personal prefference. Looks good though

 

went trail riding saturday, and hit the rocks yesterday saturday night i put some softer and shorter springs on it, to lower the ride height and allow it to flex sooner, as it doesn't have the weight that it did witht he stock chassis. also put on some "limit straps" to keep it at the axles from dropping completely out on steeper climbs.

at my local mountainbike trails. this is normally a drop/jump that lands you about 6 feet down and 8-10 feet out, but with all of the rain we've had, the landing is about 3 feet underwater

it's waterproof up the the ESCs that sit above the battery. tested it out, but didn't get any pictures.

also broke down the axle to see if it needed any cleaning. very pleased when i saw that after 2 years of running (it's even seen salt water), that the innards are nearly pristine. some serious gear reduction too
