This was the trailer I made, may do another one out of aluminum.

that's beautiful. I can make strong, functional things from scratch, but I've never been very good at getting the scale look. you nailed it with that trailer.

finally sorted out my crawler suspension :woot:

after building the tube chassis for the crawler, I found that I was getting way too much flex, to the point that I was getting a lot of axle twist while flexed, making it difficult to steer the truck, even with 4 wheel steer. I made some 550 cord limit straps to band-aid the issue, but it still wasn't performing how I wanted it to.

I was convinced that I was going to have to completely redo the suspension geometry, but last night I found that all it needed were some shocks with the correct extended and collapsed lengths. the much nicer shocks I had on my truggy worked perfectly. limited the flex and droop to the point that the truck is drivable, and turns much better. lower ride height/COG will be nice too.

old, long shocks vs current truggy shocks

What size tires and lift do you have on your taco, looks good and I am still up in the air about what I am doing with my 2013 trd.

off road lights make for good night crawling with the RCs.

But then I decided it was too cold down by the water.....

but it was nice the next day after if warmed up a little. turns out it takes a frozen lake in order to get a crawler with a 3mph top speed to do doughnuts

Eric, you have tracks on any of your trucks? I'm finding that all of my 1/10 vehicles are having trouble in snow this deep
The 2wd race buggy with paddle tires has faired the best so far, but still struggles.

Nope, don't have any tracks. Last time we got this much I didnt have much luck with any trucks, but this much does work for going snow boating if you have a catamaran.

Damn, I've always wanted an RC sailboat. They rent crappy ones at Discovery Green. Even the crappy ones are fun.

You find me a job yet Colin? Need an income so I can buy toys again.

I wouldn't be buying these if I weren't stealing them for $150 for the pair.

always wanted a set so I could sail with my dad when we're too lazy to take out the 1:1 sailboat.

keep building chandeliers like that and you won't need a new job! that thing is gorgeous. true work of art.

Damn, $150 for the pair? That's a steal, they're not ready to run are they?

The new powder coat shows up tomorrow, so I'm hoping to finish the chandelier this weekend. The globe is going to get a black chrome finish, then it's time to wire it and find a buyer.

$150 for the pair, ready to run, with batteries, in full working order. however, he's running them off of a 4xAA pack. nice and compact, but I don't like having to toss out batteries all of the time. i'll just run them off of the small 2S packs I use for the RC air boat. the 1.2 volt increase should give me a little more speed and power with the servos too.

his current setup (same in both boats)
