Had a mellow birthday weekend until Amazon showed up at the door with this surprise gift. Huge thanks to the TW staff who pitched in for an awesome bday/get well gift. Can't wait to get my surgeries done so I can get out to the dirt with this beast.

RC in general on certain brands is high... but i have to say, now seeing this thing up close and in action, that rear linked cantilever suspension is really something... pretty realistic to scale and it's so much smoother on hard bumps and terrain than any of my other toys and that's just in the front of my house... it will be fun to really put this through its paces...

there is a good one for sale in the forums now...

All the Axial rigs are expensive, but they do look more realistic than a lot of the new more affordable brands out now...

I've cobbled together a Twin Hammers Chinese clone for now. I'm under $100 in and picked up a brushless setup for about $40. I'm waiting for some free time from work to put the BL setup in. Hopefully I'll get my fix, or make it worse for something bigger.

It had some little 1.5-1.9 staggered wheels and 90mm tires, but on 12mm hex hubs. So I put on some old 2.2s I had and my old Axial electronics.

I was looking at the Axial yesterday over at Sheldon's Hobbies. The kit is much cheaper (also minus the electronics).

A kit is the way to go. I got my Honcho for full price and ended up replacing over half of it. I built a second one and only bought the frame, tranny, and body mounts.

The little tires, set of 1.9 Ripsaws, and the RPM full offset 2.2 in some geolanders with a set of Tamiya extended hubs.

    Cool!

The cage and platform looks identical to the TH, can you tell if they are?

The exterior mounted lights on the hood look better than what Vaterra did on the original.

    Isn't the RC10 considered a pan?

These are original kits I built when I was a kid. These completely captivated my interest for a couple of years back then. I truly appreciate how far the industry has come since then. They are now memories on my workshop shelf
