Drivetrain wise very little, power plant wise quite a bit, those nitro engines can be finiky, glo plugs, fuel etc. Plug up a battery and it works every time. And with the right electric set up, it will smoke a nitro set up. Also no annoying noise, means more places to run.

I really don't think its annoying, but thats me...
I like nitro mainly because of the run times, learning how to tune the engine, the sound, smell, and the fact that it has a nitro engine.

All of my R/Cs are nitro

But, I may get a short course truck because of how easy it would be to race.

Most think they are way faster than battery powered models. The smell, like Fear stated is cool, (reminds me of old school motocross, when there were no four strokes, and everyone ran caster oil mixes). I'm not trying to start a pissing match, but with battery/brushless motors advancements, even run times are longer on electric models. Some tracks make the electric guys come in for a "mock" pit stop (stop and go) to be fair to the nitro guys.

I agree with you on hobby grade electronics have advanced leaps in bounds in the hobby world

the only real advancements in nitro has been the construction of the engine itself

EDIT: Not quite, I could run for an hour straight just refilling the tank but a battery will eventually dump and need to be recharged

You guys need to buy this 2.4 remote and receiver its only 35 bucks has almost all the functionalities as an spectrum and each additional receiver is only 8 bucks I have it and I love it. Sure beats paying 200 for spectrum or airtronics!
