I ended up drilling a couple 1/8" holes in each wheel and that did the trick. Did not cut the foams. Tires have good squish and lost the bounce. Thanks for the input guys, I may try some trimming on my Scorpion and put the foams back in it to see the effect.

Everyone seems to be a fan of the beadlock wheels. For the price of a good set of alloy beadlocks you can buy a second set of tires and normal plastic wheels. I've come to love the 2.2 RPM bullethole looking wheels for their wide offset. A set of 4 is around $12-13 shipped from the right vendor. DollarHobbyz has them that cheap as well as a few other branded wheels. I got a cool looking set of 2.2 HPIs that's waiting on some foams and I'm gonna stretch a set of 1.9 Trepadors on them. Unless you want the scale look, then that's fine. But swapping tires is as easy as 4 nuts, not 48 tiny little screws when you've got multiple wheels and are trying to save a few bucks. Just saying.

Well, I'm a bit of a tire whore so I like to swap mine, that's why I like beadlocks. And yeah, the bling ;)

I painted this micro Mini Cooper on a Losi chassis last night. The tape on the back glass didn't stick 100%, but it'll work for a beater.

Here's the RPMs on my budget buggy.

And the 2.2 HPI wheels with some 1.9 Treps stretched on them. I'm not really feeling it now that they're on there. I may just pull them and get something else.

Yeah, true, but for a 3d printed set not too bad. I think he may have been limited by the track band that he had available.
Predator makes a nice set but the whole kit will run close to $500.00 bones. Not worth it.

Yep. Looks like the tracks do great on ice and might be good for sand but not for the deep snow...

New sliders, painted the battery tray. I'm wanting a motor and servo and esc and radio and fully understand the kit instead of rtr debate now. But I had one option Didn't see much for myself/truck at the swap meet but some stuff for other RC enthusiasts for sure. I was maybe 10:05 and people were walking out with arms full. Three with spare scx10 bodies id have snagged. Maybe I missed the boat. I like the hunt of searching for the perfect part anyway, it's part of the fun so a swap didn't likely have my exact things

Do you guys know about RC Recycler? http://www.rc-recycler.com/axial.html

It's a legit place, you can get lots of goodies there if you like buying used. I don't mind some parts used, but electronics I only buy used locally if I know the seller (or reputable sellers on RCTech).

Yep. They don't mind telling it how it is with something and showing where it's worn.

I've been spending some coin with DollarHobbyz.com lately. They just started adding upgrade parts after the New Year.
