    Been wanting some stainless steel axle tubes for my wraith, but Beef Tubes were damned expensive at $35 per set. I pondered attempting to make my own, since there really isn't much to them but I decided not to. Started looking around for alternatives and ran across Boom Racing Kronik axle tubes. I've heard that their stuff can be sometimes questionable, but at $15 per set, I figured what the hell. Got them yesterday and installed them. Added some nice weight to the axles and fit perfectly. I did have to grind a lip off my rear axle shafts so that they would fit in the tubes (per the instructions), but the holes were properly tapped and lined up. I had no installation problems at all. Well worth it to me.

    I kept looking at the crawlers TBuzz posted pics of and finally turned to Google. I wanted something more hardcore than my two scx10 chassises and I think I found something. GMade came out with the R1 some years ago. It costs more than I want to dish out, so I thought about it a little bit. Googled again and found what I was thinking.

    So I've ordered up just the cage and will be swapping the drivetrain from one of my scx10s over to it. Either the Wraith axles or the normal axles. Although they came with portal axles. But they can be some very capable rigs with either.

    I can't get the video to load up at my crappy work Internet. What exactly is that? Looks like a factory divorced motor/tranny setup.

    I'll ask today. they are incredibly sticky on the rocks and tough. I was amazed at how tough the rc's are in general. Couple were waterproof, super low COG, metal parts, but the value of those things wow.
    But they can crawl and articulate.

    At one point that thing is on two wheels right here. He had it balancing, super impressive. Then he lost it and reversed which kept it from rolling.

    @TBuzz.

    Which one is yours? They all look like highly capable crawlers. Mine started life as a Honcho and due to the limited crawling spots I never got to use it on much more than big busted rocks in drainage ditches.

    They all belong to my friend in the red t-shirt. I don't know anything about rc cars, except I'd like to have one. I was shocked at his rough estimate of value when I said I wanted one. I felt bad when I busted them and of course offered to pay. He wasn't concerned a bit and had parts to fix the one at home.

    We are pretty lucky to have lots of sandstone an hour away.

    Long story there but he won the lottery.

    Last time he was into guns and we went shooting. He poured out 2 ammo boxes and a bunch of guns. Two hours later I said that was fun I gotta have one. Then realized it was about $200 an hour for that kinda fun.

    Well. We've got similar tastes but different funds. But you can't win if you don't play and everyone that plays isn't a winner. They were going nuts down here when the powerball was in the billions.

    looks like they blatantly copied Axial and started with the upgraded/modded drivetrain from the start. I like it. HPI makes some really good stuff. Will be looking at this when it hits the shelf.

    some nice touches there ; behind the axle steering linkages and fully threaded shocks. The swinging rear gate w/spare and side mirrors add a nice touch of realism.

    Looks like a 1.9 wheel? I assume this is relatively true to 1/10 scale like an SCX-10 OR Ascender?

    I got the bug this week bad.

    I previously ordered up the GMade r1 cage and will build it. Through my Google session I found a 1/24 version. I'm waiting for a response from the seller and will order this chassis.

    I'm thinking a set of HPI Rock Grabber tires would be a close match for the MiClaws on the micro.
