I have the 1/24 crawler and SCT. Both are a blast, but have severe limits due to their size. If you are just getting one, I'd go with the twin hammers for sure.

    definitely a fun indoor rig.

here are a couple different iterations of my trail trekker. The rock that the right rear tire is on in the first picture is about the size of a baseball for scale

I put my Trekker drive train in a Goat chassis. Then put my Honcho drivetrain in an R1 chassis.

The Losi 1/24 Rally/SCT are discontinued now. But I've got several of them pieced together from parts and they're fun. Highly limited due to their size, though. But indoors they're fun.

Hey everyone, been a while since I've popped in here.

I find my Xmaxx to be boring. Going fast just isn't that much fun to me and the Xmaxx needs a lot of space to run fast. I much prefer trail driving/crawling to bashing and want to convert it to a brushed setup. I've got a couple of old drill motors (18V and 14.4V) to work with that look like they might be made to fit with some custom fab. I just don't know what ESC to use. I'm thinking a Holmes BR-XL. Does that sound about right? Would likely run 4s or 6s.

That would be interesting. Curious to see how that turns out. Xmaxxs are ridiculous lol.

Went to the race track last night. The Arrma was working so good. For a RTR, with a few mods, those things work fantastic. I had my Talion, a friend had his Typhin and a few ppl there had the Senton s/c trucks. They were as good as any other truck/buggy out there. Great brand.

Also, my mini Revo did surprisingly well. It was a hardpack dirt/clay track, so no traction roll. That thing buzzes around with the big trucks, no problem. You just have to not make mistakes, as it gets knocked off course easier than the larger scale trucks. I'm excited to install the rest of my mods on it, and then compare it to the current set up.

Its not something I would have bought for myself, that's for sure. My dad bought it for me so I need to do something with it. I think I've only driven it 3 or 4 times. Going fast is just boring and opens you up to broken parts. I'd much rather try to climb a steep hill or drive over a rock pile. If I can get this thing going on a brushed setup and do something to better lock the diffs, it ought to be able to go over/through some interesting places. It's never going to climb as well as my wraith, but I think I can still make it fun.

Absolutely. My same buddy with the Typhin, also has an Xmaxx. I drove it for the first time a couple weeks ago. They are a good bashing truck. They go over things well, but it's more of a trail-blazing manner, than a crawler. Pretty high-strung in comparison to a true crawler. I think it would be cool if you do something like that with yours. But I must admit, I like blasting them around, how they come from the factory. Very easy to drive and very smooth. I was impressed.

I didn't check their website but I've read the Wraith has become a legacy RC now like the Exo and several others. Parts will be available, NIB kits, and RTRs for a while. But they're no longer produced.

The wraith is the most versatile rig they make. It can handle anything is still scale and not a comp craler but can keep up with some comp crawlers

I feel like now electric has taken over as the top platform. Lipo batteries and brushless motors, along with the electronic tuning, is what made that step. I think there is still a very cool novelty of the nitro and the tuning. And of course, the nitro trucks are no slouches. But the electric stuff now has instant low-end power, which is tough to beat.

What run times were you getting out of your XMAXX? My friends seems like he can get 40mins out of his, which I thought was impressive.

preference more than anything. I ran nitro for years for bashing. When electrics and batteries caught up, I made the switch a few years back and now prefer battery mainly because it's just cleaner and easier to setup.

There's low voltage detection on that ESC and a thermal cutoff. If it's on, the LED glows green. Otherwise, RED.
