Any recommendations for a new servo for my bomber? I want to run a 3s (did realize certain servos could only use certain batteries without a Bec?)Was looking at hobby Holmes but to be honest I'm not sure how to know if something will work or not :anonymous:

You will need direct power for the holms servo.your esc choice will dictate if you need a bec.newer esc like the 1080 hobbywing have a 7.2 had, plenty of power for your servo.factory esc is just bearly enough amps to power even cheap servos.if you don't upgrade esc, then get a bec

Mines toast. Definitely something wrong with it, either the gears or fried. It seems to turn ok one direction and not the other. Then it eventually just turns left all the time.
I was hoping not to upgrade the ESC quite yet. If I do that I'll just go ahead and put in a new motor at the same time. Stock one is waterproof also

@Blackout14 this is what my servo is doing. I thought maybe it could be the receiver but I swapped the steering/throttle and it still did it. Plus the receiver is in the waterproof box.

The plastic gear isn't stripped either so I might have fried the electronics of the servo :notsure:

That's what I thought but I pulled it apart and the gears looked fine too. A little frustrating.

I guess I can just replace the servo and see what happens. If that still happens then I guess it'd be the receiver bad?

seeing that tie rod flex tells me you might have a bind in the steering knuckles. Specifically the driver/left side.
Disconnect the servo from the drag link and see how the assembly turns by hand.

Axial's RTR lineup isn't very good. Cheap electronics and plastic everything lends them to nearly being rebuilt to make them semi solid rigs. If the aftermarket were to slow or stop making for Axial they'd go under. That said, I've found great deals on used rollers and have been able to build up and beyond for less money as well as have a decent, fun rig. I picked up a 3rd Wraith slider recently and will see what direction it takes. Leaning towards a 1.9 rig but haven't decided.

As for the servos on Bombers, there many out there. HH, Bluebird, and several others. Search over at RCC for more informed opinions and reviews. The problem with the Bomber is its heavier and faster than than the Wraith but basically uses the same axles and electronics as the Wraith.

Finally snagged some rock racer tires for the score truck. It looks amazing. Gotta trim the body I'm sure but now I can make it a more jack of all trades

Picked up a axial wraith spawn while on vacation. Thing is pretty awesome

    IMG_2213.jpg

Weak links. Front center link and drag link. Shocks are junk. Move the battery to the front some how.

Wanted upgrades. Alum high clearance links alum steering.

Thats a great choice of truck!

Battery to the front is pretty easy. I cant remember, but you might have to move the receiver box (I moved mine to the rear), but you can fit the battery right in front of the cabin like this:
    20170610_061240.jpg 20170610_061343.jpg
Moving the electronics to the rear was done by purchasing a small electronics project box and cutting a hole in it to run the wires out:
    20170610_061425.jpg

As for the links, you will get stronger and better links by making your own.

Traxxas Revo rod ends part# 5347
    8/32 all thread rod
1/4 x .028 stainless steel tube (can be acquired at tower hobbies)
Small pipe cutter or Dremel with cutting wheel
    patience

And you will end up with this - you can also do this for steering and drag links:
    20170610_061357.jpg
    IMAG0574.jpg

As for shocks, I run Traxxas Big Bores. They work all right.

For the links you will also need something to bend the small tube with. I got the cutter and bending tool at an auto parts store.

One of my Wraiths run the $40ish set of Hot Racing links from fleaBay. These are OK but use m3 hardware to hold the end links on. I made the links for another using solid stainless rod from Lowes and a small die to thread the ends of the links. Then screwed the same Revo ends on.
