Go to the marketplace on RC Forums and buy yourself a nice used DXi (Spectrum) for a song. Hobby King radios are fairly nice as well for the price.

I used to be active and ran 1/10 scale stadium truck and buggy for years. Then got into 1/8 scale buggies. Haven’t charged a battery in years. I did get out and fly today though.

Love this little slow flyer, it’ll almost sit still in a slight breeze.

That's what I was looking at but, $60 for a used one. That's almost what I paid for 4 helis tonight. Lol

Six channel heli's are very challenging. I'm a novice at best, half ass with planes, but not in the same league as the guys I fly with.

    I have several.
Hel's with an electric tail motor are a nightmare to learn on due to inconsistent tail control.
They run faster on a full charge and decline in speed as the battery drains. Plus the heat buildup and extra weight the heat sink adds are all counterproductive.
If you really want to take on the hobby and not empty your wallet prematurely, get a heli with a belt or shaft driven tail.
450 size or bigger, anything smaller is way to squirrely and the lightest winds will have their way with it.

Is there an aeronautical-specific RC thread on TW or is there just this main non-specific RC thread?

If hovering a helicopter is anything like hovering a drone in rate mode, all I can say is practice practice practice. In between each practice make sure your wallet is open. Also, get spare blades before you go out.

Anyone know where I can get parts for these tanks? Picked them up at Ross dor 25 bucks and theyre pretty fun, but just like my XMods RC car from radio shack, I'd like to mod the engine to make it faster and also buy tracks in case I rip them off. I've been looking around the net and haven't found a place yet that sells specific parts. Just wondering if any of you more seasoned RC Vets might know where I can get some info.

@KenpachiZaraki You might try Hobby People if you can find one. Unfortunately, I'm not sure there are specific parts made for those as they seem more like one use items.

Yup that's what it seems like. I've seen other brands that are better but also more expensive. My wife has a thing about me and expensive "hobbies" LOL. I might buy another one and tear one apart just to see how it works.

Even though I own a Losi TEN-MT, I decided to get a TEN-SCBE. They are similar but not. Battery compartments are different. SCBE battery is accessible from inside where the MT has a panel on the bottom of the car.

I'll know more once I have a chance to take it outside. Damn you TW RC thread :D

As a rule, If you don't buy your model from a true "hobby shop" you'll never find parts for it.
