I feel like if I don't build something with that body it just be wrong lol
Ima go a different route then the regular scale chassis. Im going to build on a twin hammers because it is ifs in the front and straight axle rear and I plan on keeping the 2speed tranny functional. I think I'm going to try and replicate my tg bumper and my bed rack for it to be a mini me of my truck . Hopefully it'll be done in the next 2 weeks :woot:

Ok guys..... i decided to play Dr. Frankenstein.... i took the body off of a cheap ass furious 7 charger (1/16 scale) from target and stuck it on my 1/18th scale dromida buggy chassis. I had to extend the chassis length, so i got another chassis and cut them both to the lengths i needed and stuck them together. Modified the body for mounting, and the wheel wells for tire clearance.

    Details:

It started as one of these

    Screenshot_2018-04-02-21-04-33.jpg

Stuck the chassis' together and used 3"16" bar in the middle and on the sides, aluminum angle on the outsides, and went ape shit with the epoxy gun. I extended the upper brace with aluminum also (part is on back order, so i made due). Also rigged up the rear body mount system.

....so, here's what it looks like

    20180416_225725.jpg
    20180414_180146.jpg

    And it has headlights :cookiemonster:

Took the led's from the roof of the buggy and stuck them into the body and once again went ape shit with the epoxy gun :D

I've done a few test runs.... jumps, hit a speed bump and it kart wheeled several times. So far everything is holding up well to abuse. Pretty quick on a nickle (about 25-30 on a full charge)..... need to stick a lipo in this bitch :burnrubber:

    ^^looks good^^
But remember high speeds and hard body's don't get along lol

BTW do any of you use a airtronics mt4? What settings are required to use aux1 as a on/off switch. I'm reading the manual but I'm not a reading learner haha. I just keep changing settings, aux2 will be to shift the tranny so that's already in use

The body has some cons :(
Too narrow to be scale for my liking the stickers for the window decals are not 100% accurate size, I think I may be asking for too much from a toy haha

A 1st gen isn’t the widest of trucks out there. I hate crappy window masks and decals. I bought a pair of RC4WD Trail Stomper bodies and they had crappy stickers. I’ve had better masks from a Banggood $15 body.

I actually bought that exact same body and the window masks and decals were so bad I couldn't use the body so I traded it away

I wouldn’t even worry putting the outside decals on that simulate the window trim.

Your bumper reminds me I need to figure out an antenna mount for the GX I’m about to make a 900 mile trip in soon.

Yea my window trim in my real truck is black anyway so you can't see it. I just ordered the light kit with headlights, turn signals, running lights and reverse lights that only light up in reverse, but I still can't figure out how to setup the 3rd channel to remotely control the lights

Also there is absolutely no instructions on the body, so I got no idea how to install the grill.

It'll have what my truck has tg front bumper (I gotta make it) snorkel, light bar, king coilovers upfront, custom bed rack, rock sliders. Basically everything that my 1:1 has this will have custom made to the best of my ability.

I ran into a problem tho where do I get rims that look like sequoia rims (which was my 1:1 has) . Proline makes bfgoodrich all terrains that are identical to the real thing so that's easy to duplicate .

What chassis and axles are you using? What’s the width of the body at the wheel wells/fenders?
