What do you guys do about stripped hex screws? Horizon used Hulk strength when installing my driveshaft screws and now all 4 are stripped. Too small for my tap and don’t want to mess it up.

I got a set of left hand drill bits from Sears a couple years ago. But they don’t go that small.

I would look for something you can drive into the hole and then also heat it as best you can. Maybe even stick the tip of a soldering gun into the hole and heat it that way first. They likely used some sort of Loc Tite.

They are tiny and don’t want to damage the transmission. It’s the sunken in screws, so not much to drill into.

I like that idea. My left handed bits are too big as well. Was really hoping to swap to metal gears and grease my transmission shift arm as it’s sticking and won’t shift.

What is it we’re working on? Do you have metric bits/drivers? Probably the single most bestest investment for an RC hobbyist will be a quality set of drivers. Seriously. I wouldn’t blink at spending $40-50 for just a few of them. Figure out what you use the most and get some MIP ones. I got a cheapo set of Dynamite/Horizon drivers and they’re about shot after a year.

Found this used 2WD slash on eBay, took delivery of it yesterday, and promptly ran it into a fence pole at pretty much top speed and broke it. *sigh*

I have a scx10. I want a new truck. I'm considering the scx10 ii or a 2.2 truck wraith or bomber. Anyone have experience with all three?

that trx4 sport is cool as fuck. The rack makes it super cool. I am super into my crawler but I should be picking up a E Revo 2.0 tomorrow if they arrive to my local hobby shop. Ready to bash.

I was in line to buy one but the shop wanted 600 not the 549 other people are getting. I felt bad but I said no and walk away. I am not paying 50 extra. Rc planet charges no tax so if they get them in stock thats a deal for that truck. If they have them at my shop tomorrow I will get it and pay the stupid sales rip off tax but at least I think my shop will only charge the 549. 50 bucks is the price of the battery I will need. I have one 3s so I only need to pick up one more.

scx10.2 has some well needed changes from the scx10, it still actually carries a nice pricepoint too.

The wraith and bomber are not only in a completely diff class but even different from each other.

They are much bigger, they wont fit in the tight spaces of a 1.9 so they are usually out on scale trail crawling.

The wraight with proper electronics will crawl realllly well, the bomber likes to go a little faster than a crawls pace. That being said ive seen a bomber crawl some impressive things in the hands of a driver with throttle control.

Ive had a couple 2.2’s, but my 1.9 sees the most action.

Yeah I want a new honcho but id want the metal links, upgraded axles and trans gears the other ii's are getting, bumpers and a spektrum receiver off the bat. probably wheels foams and tires too. it looks like a worthy scale truck but i already have an scx10 that is really pointed out for competition crawling that needs a better driver.

The trucks with bigger 2.2 tires have always interested me and I kinda want one. I also have a yeti jr but I dont want a full size yeti. The bombers look like a lot of fun but the wraith seems like a bigger vehicle that might need more money in it to make it how i want it. a rtr bomber I can upgrade as it breaks I think and be pretty happy with some stuff like links and a receiver off the bat.

I hadn't thought about making the original honcho a 2.2 truck and grabbing a SCx10ii to build

i have a rtr bomber and enjoy it. granted im a noob and its just a play thing. but its fun to scoot around and still try to climb things. i drowned a servo but thats the only damage done so far. its tumbled down 20-25ft hills too.

Dont get a yeti, just dont. Bomber is impressive rtr rig and if u wanna to have fun with more speed its a great rig.

Wraih is meh, crawls really well but isnt as good at speed as the bomber.

@Tundra2Play did a 2.2 converson on an scx chassis and i think hed say dont do it
